Dear Charlie

I just don´t know what to do with my life.

I am 21 years old and I have the feeling, that I just screw everything up.

My best friend suffer from depressions, low self-esteem and she is really dependent on me. I love her and I don´t want her to get hurt, but I can´t make it any longer. She is so afraid of being left behind and being left alone, that she is trying to tie me up to her and after so many years it just begins to be unbearable. Furthermore, she did not tell anyone else about her feeling lonely and unloved, not even to her parents. I still was not succeful at convincing her to visit a psychologist or a psychiatrist. I would really like to help her, I want her to be happy, but I know, that I can´t help her all alone.

My mother suffer from her children leaving her. I am the youngest child (I have two siblings much older than me) and I can see, how she is hurt just by imagining, that I will leave home - and her - one day (I study university, that is why I have not done it yet). And I am so sorry for that and I don´t want to hurt her, but there is no other way - I can´t live with my parents forever, of course.

I have a friend of mine, who I know for a long time. I really like her, she is great, nice, smart, funny… We graduated from high school together and continued to be really close during next years. However something went wrong - it started with just a small gestures and touches by her boyfriend. During almost one year these little things began to be more serious. A few weeks ago I was with him and other friend on some event. We were drinking and having fun. And then, when the third friend went home, we somehow lost our minds and spent night together. I don´t know, what to do. I don´t know, how do I feel about him - do I want him? And even if I would want him, I would not want to break their relationship and hurt his girlfriend - my friend. In the same time I don´t want to stop to see both of them.

My dear friend, thank you for reading at least a part of what bothers me. Thank you for being here. I don´t know who else I could write all these things to. Maybe I should stop thinking about it for now and just go to sleep. Thank you. K.I.
