I think that the South Carolina Gamecocks have a real chance to make the college football playoff this year, and even win the national championship, and here's why.
Lanorris Sellers. That's it. I seriously could leave it at that and I think most people would understand, however, I can explain. In the season opener against Virginia Tech, Lanorris looked like he didn't miss a step, starting right off where he ended last year. Lanorris has a real chance to win the Heisman this year.
The defense looked legit. A lot of the questions around the gamecocks this year was whether their defense would be able to bounce back after losing so many starters to the NFL Draft. The defense allowed only six points against Tech and looked sharp as ever. All in all, I think if South Carolina continues to improve every week and stay healthy they have a legitimate shot at making noise in the college football playoff.
