I literally cannot get Renoir's theme out of my head or the absolutely incredible introduction to his final fight.

And I keep thinking about how he went from this insanely foreboding and intimidating figure to kind of tragic, but admirable. At the end of it all, he is just a father and a husband desperate to save his family from their self-destructive grief, not to say he also wasn't going about his grief in an unhealthy way too but he quickly realized that at least what Aline was doing was killing her. I love how much he loves Aline and his children.

I adore him as a character now. Plus he has swagger in spades and his fight is so cool. Sad, but cool as hell.
