Linux Mint Connections
Yeah, a little rocky on the WiFi.
It looks like the best WiFi adapter chipset to have is AR9170. Unfortunately I do believe that my current adapter (A Rosewill) has a RealTek 8188 or something along those lines.
Which, it does work, but I literally have to unplug it and plug it every time for it to see any of the wireless networks anywhere. Sort of a pain.
So, I’m debating whether to get a new one with an AR9170 chipset in it or not. I don’t know, maybe I’ll try ThinkPenguin.
Linux Mint 18 is On
There have been some hiccups, like I can’t get my Calibre and ADE to play right. So, we’re working on that.
Ooh, and I have pictures, but the whole kit and kaboodle will be posted more about on Tuesday or so, when there isn’t a really important Patriots game in two hours and I have to get ready for tomorrow at work.
On the whole I really like it though.
I have to get my backups onto the SSD, and I’m already worried that the 500 GB SSD isn’t going to be big enough (I’m probably wrong, but, oy... :)) So far so good. Chrome is on there, Calibre, we’ll see if Banshee will work with my iPod. So far... so good.
