Fall Semester 2013
So I've got my schedule figured out for Fall '13 (Why not summer, you ask? Po' college student, bro.)
I've gotta backtrack a bit and take Intro to BioAnthro Studies again (got sick and barely bombed it last semester (a C- is still a C, dammit! *quietly rages*)), and then first time Archaeological Data Analysis (which just sounds sweet!), and Florida Archaeology (which is great because it fits perfectly into too many sweet spots for me).
Oh, and I apparently have to take a writing course on "Professional Writing" (apparently a bullshit course that has nothing to do with my actual field).
And then theoretically, my calendar year 2014 will be filled to the brim with a minor/certification in GIS usage. Looks like I'll be at uni through at least spring 2015. Knowing how things are, I'll probably leave with my Bachelors in Anthropology and dual minors in GIS and maybe history.
It's cool. I'm cool with it. ...Except for the fact that by the time I graduate, I will have been working toward my bachelors for almost 10 nearly consecutive years (I've taken about 7 semesters (2.3 years) off in the midst of this)
Brain. Plz, no more ideas. Brain. Stahp.
Or, “Reasons why student anthropologists never seem to get anything done, but get so much accomplished.”
New topic of study, to be added to the already monumental stack already! Oh, and it’s even got its own title already!
“Poor and Proud of it: A Study of the Misconceptions and Stereotypes of the Poverty Class in the Southeast United States”
Something tells me, I may need to either (A) narrow my field of study, (B) prepare for a multivolume decade long thesis (urban, suburban, rural—just for starters).
At least it’s a nice packaged deal.
...Let me die now, please.
