I prefer shipping F!Alear with Alcryst over M!Alear. The only person I'd ship with M!Alear is Alfred. Others don't feel right

Aren't both Alflears the same? Like really the only difference is what Alear you prefer. Neither m or f Alflear is objectively better in end, they're the same character and have the same dialogue, and their relationship progresses the same way. It's really is much more about which Alear you prefer and like more

Also one last thing but, you draw a lot of this ship as well so with that context and the ask, it really seems like you're putting down M!Alflear to say that "F!Alflear is the "superior choice" or that it is "better" when there really isn't an objective truth. I don't see why you'd need to insist that your side of the ship is better over another, especially since ship bashing isn't exactly the way to make new fans.

Well, the voice acting is massively different. Alfred’s voice acting is the same, but Alear’s isn’t, f!alear’s voice actor has more emotion in it. The “thank you so much. I will happily accept your gesture” line is a flatter one for McInnis, but Stahl is super emotional in this one. His is a lot more flat, and her’s is far more emotional. “The embroidery is exquisite” line is one of the lines that Brandon McInnis used more emotion in, but Laura Stahl’s is still more emotional. 

The only line that McInnis delivers at the same emotional level as Stahl is “we’re going to be inseparable” but that’s it. The rest of the sentence is better delivered by Stahl. 

They’re both wonderful voice actors, and McInnis really does an amazing job on, say, Louis’ S support, and the Yunaka one I prefer McInnis’ voice acting as well. Aside from that yes, the relationship progression is the same. But it’s surprising just how much voice acting changes a story. 

I think the character designs work better together as well, given that they are more dissimilar and I find asymmetry in character design interesting for art. The shape language is more interesting to draw and enjoy as well (for me), and I find m!alear’s voice acting is less compelling to me for Alflear.

I’m not insisting that mine is better objectively. This is just an opinion. I said the vibes vibe better. That doesn’t mean it is objectively better, it’s just that I think it’s better. 

Also, why should the way I interact with a fan space matter that much? Engage doesn’t get a lot of fan art (at least on Tumblr) and telling me (one of the few artists that draws a lot for engage) that my ship art makes it look like I’m bashing m!alflear is a little hurtful, and not conducive to fandom growth. 

And ship discourse is a perfectly valid way to make new fans, so long as it is civil and gentle. Honestly I came into the Breath of the Wild fandom because of ship discourse, as one example.
