Maining Widowmaker
Don’t do it unless you are impervious to shit talk.
First of all, she’s actually really difficult to play. Her venom mines don’t do hardly any damage. Her sniper rifle is powerful, but unless you get a headshot, you will need at least two shots to kill an enemy. This is an exception for Tracer and Zenyatta, but Tracer is nearly impossible to hit because of how fast she is. Plus you actually have to aim, no aimbots here, which is hard with the way people move in this game. And getting headshots is actually difficult, considering how freaking small everyones heads are.
Second of all, she has practically no health and no armor or shields or anything. 2 barely in the area shots from a pharah will knock her right out.
Third of all, her ultimate does basically nothing. She’s the only character who doesn’t have a “press q to win”. Even the other sniper, hanzo, has one of those. All she can do is make her sniping a little easier for thirty seconds.
Fourth of all: People will never shut up about you playing her. Some people you call you stupid for playing her, some will say you’re a bad player. Then they’ll turn around and call you op if a miracle happens and you manage to get a few headshots in. In actuality, Widow is only OP if you know how to play her, really, really well. If you’re lagging, or even slightly off your game, or even just have bad luck, you can’t do shit.
Fifth of all, You never get any recognition. Getting a play of the game only happens if everyone else on both teams suck, and getting on the board is hard as hell, especially if there are healers or turret makers on either team, which there inevitably will be.
Sixth of all: even after all of this, you will still get nerfed. And things will be even harder.
