RITCHIE, MATTHEW (Inglaterra, 1964)
Este artista destaca en la pintura y se caracteriza por un importante conocimiento del estilo clásico y el control de perspectiva, luz y proporciones. Su obra es una obra de ficción, mezclandose con el espacio y los muros, huyendo del lienzo muchas veces, que nos inserta en un mundo nuevo y diferente a todo lo conocido. Utiliza formas abstractas pero en cierta forma orgánicas, que nos recuerdan a elementos de la naturaleza como las raíces de un arból o el tallo de una flor.
Ha creado instalaciones que pertenecen a ese mismo universo ficticio y casi que mitológico lleno de oscuridad y misterio. A pesar de ser generalmente definido como pintor, este artista basa su obra en el dibujo, dibujos que más tarde escanea y manipula o deforma a través del ordenador, generando una imagen digital en 3D. Entre algunas de sus mas importantes exposiciones, podemos destacar su exposicion del MoMA y su exposición del Gugghengeim.
