Omg, how many series does Fate have? Everytime I get on tumblr you're talking about a different Fate serie
Short answer: a lot. Fate is a huge franchise with many fans across Japan and the entire world, so why not make a lot of it I guess. But your question made me curious, so I did some research
The main series consists of Fate/Stay Night with it’s three different routes, its prequel Fate/Zero, and its sequel Fate/Hollow Ataraxia. They all have adaptations into different media
Then there are a ton of spin-offs and AUs, the biggest being the Fate/Extra, Fate/Grand Order and Fate/Kaleid universes, having adaptations into a lot of different media
Some officially produced parodies exist, like Carnival Phantasm and Today’s menu for Emiya family
And so so much more....
Long answer:
I found a list of most Fate media on the Typemoon wiki site – I’m saying most, because some things like DVD only special releases and some small spin-offs, parodies, other media releases and other things aren’t listed there. I changed the list a little and put it into a different order
I felt so free to bold the stuff I’ve watched/read but as much as I wanted to add some thoughts to some of these (like recommendations on what to watch/not watch) I didn’t say anything. If you want my opinion/recommendations, feel free to ask

i may or may not watch fate series but what's the order
My time has come
A random guide to watching the Fate series by moi
What is Fate and where do I start?
The “Fate” series follows the Holy Grail War, where seven magi are chosen by the Holy Grail to each summon and team up with one of the greatest heroes or villains from history and make them fight against each other until only one of them is left. The last person standing will have a wish granted by the Holy Grail.
And there is a lot of Fate stuff. Games, Manga, Visual Novels and Anime but to narrow it down I’ll stick to the main Fate series and of that only the parts that have anime adaptations
The main series that has an adaptation is “Fate/Stay Night”, a Visual Novel from 2004 that has three routes to play (think of them as alternative universes idk): Fate (also sometimes called “Stay Night” but “Fate” is the official name), Unlimited Blade Works and Heaven’s Feel. It also has a prequel, “Fate/Zero” that also has an adaptation
With only the main series and its anime adaptions, you’re still left with quite the collection to choose from:
Fate/Stay Night (2006 series, Studio Deen) and Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (2010 movie, Studio Deen) - Adaptations of the Fate and Unlimited Blade Works route but do NOT watch those. They’re both bad, contain spoilers or assume you’ve read the visual novel. Just don’t watch them
Fate/Zero (2011-12 series, ufotable) – An anime adaptation of the Prequel “Fate/Zero”. It takes place 10 years before the main series. A possible starting point
Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (2014-15 series, ufotable) – An anime adaptation of the Unlimited Blade Works route. Another possible starting point
Fate/Stay Night: Heaven’s Feel (2017-20 three movies, ufotable) – An anime adaptation of the Heaven’s Feel route split into three movies so it’s like an alternative universe to Unlimited Blade Works. Not a starting point and at this point not all movies are out in English yet. Should be watched after Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works; edit: all movies are out in English
Leaving out the stuff you shouldn’t watch, you’re left with Fate/Zero, Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works and Fate/Stay Night: Heaven’s Feel
So you can either watch the prequel “Fate/Zero” first
Cons: When you go on to Fate/Stay Night, you will know some spoilers for Unlimited Blade Works and Heaven’s Feel, like family relations, who some people are and what they have done, what happened ten years ago etc etc
Fate/Zero does not explain what’s going on. It only very briefly explains the Holy Grail war, the master and servant stuff but it can be very confusing because it doesn’t explain a lot
BUT: Honestly the spoilers aren’t that bad and once you get over the confusion everything’s fine
Or you watch Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works first
Cons: At this point, not all Heaven’s Feel movies are out in English
Going back to Fate/Zero you’ll already know how what happens to some characters, how Fate/Zero ends etc etc
BUT: Unlimited Blade Works explains the whole setting in great detail and makes it easily understandable
Conclusion: There is no ideal starting point to the Fate series. Do not watch “Heaven’s Feel” first though, the movies assume that you’ve watched Unlimited Blade Works.
Either Fate/Zero -> Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works -> Fate/Stay Night: Heaven’s Feel
Or Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works -> Fate/Stay Night Heaven’s Feel -> Fate/Zero
Here is a good video that helped me figure everything out, it also goes into the games, visual novels, spin-offs and AUs a bit
My brother and I started with Fate/Zero because back when I got into anime only that one existed and I didn’t know what Unlimited Blade Works was oops. We were extremely confused at times but it got better over time
A time ago you said something about Queue, could you please explain what it is? 👉👈
Yeah sure!
Basically, when you make a post, you can choose between different things like posting it immediately, saving it as a draft, posting it privately for only you to see, or queuing it
When you queue posts, Tumblr automatically posts them. You can decide the time span where the posts will be made and how many posts will go up
Here you can see my queue. Tumblr automatically uploads two posts I saved to the queue between midnight and 6 am. It also shows the exact time when the post will be made, in this case on Saturday (tomorrow) at 2am. It'll also post something else tomorrow but that's not included in this screenshot
Another option is scheduling posts, where you can pick the exact date and time when a post will go up
I hope I explained it in a way that's easy to understand!
Unfortunately due to a continuous spam from bot accounts I’m turning the comments off. Some could be able to comment (that’s due to the settings I chose) but the majority will not. I’m sorry that it’s come down to this but. Yeah.
You can still reblog (hell I appreciate reblogs) just for now. Comments are disabled.
I apologize for the inconvenience hopefully I can get to a point where I feel justified turning the comments back on.
Sorry I’ve been dead, school decided to seep all my damn energy then I got sick but I’m back.
I don’t really know how much CRK I’ll post about, I haven’t been playing a whole lot lately… I’ve been giving my attention towards Date Everything, which I totally won’t yap about next post.
Till then, I’m going to try to post more often. (Maybe not a lot next week. I’m not looking forward to the ap exam)
The reason i'm so quiet about a lot of how I feel is because i'm angered and made jealous about ridiculous and offensive things that don't really make sense because it's my fault, not the other person's. So I just keep my mouth shut.
