it was weird. derek was still working in the hospital and meredith had a lot of free time. she was the one who caused it and she also wanted to be the one who fixes it. luckily, things between her and derek were slowly getting better and better and the adoption process was also going in the right direction. today was supposed to be their another meeting with the social worker and because derek was busy, meredith was unsure if it actually happens but janet said it was okay so meredith came alone. it showed up that this meeting was a special one. janet brought them the last papers so after they sign them, zola can be officially theirs. holding zola in meredith's arms, she knocked on derek's office even though the door was open. "zola, look who is here." mer said towards the little girl and then looked at him. "hi, do you have a minute?"

“I heard the adoption process for Zola is moving forward,” Cristina said nonchalantly as Derek approached her side, seemingly busy browsing patient journals. Cristina was as always updated on all things Grey-Shepherd, and she was happy that something positive was coming their way. And even though she was set on never having kids, she liked the idea of being an aunt-like figure to someone else. Plus, Zola was cute as hell. “I’m happy for you.”
