Inglourious Basterds (2009) | dir. Quentin Tarantino
first rule of magic: always be the smartest person in the room.
As a female director I love women. I’m kind of obsessed with my actors, I love them so much. I’m just like, the more they’re beautiful, more they’re clever, more I want to feel them, more I want to respect them. It’s weird to be a female [who would want to] film women not in a beautiful way. I think it’s strange.
"I want you to follow, because no matter what you think you might know, we will always be one step, three steps- seven steps ahead of you, and just when you think you're catching up, that's when we'll be right behind you. And at no time will you be anywhere other than exactly where I want you to be. So come close, get all over me because the closer you think you are, the less you'll actually see." Now You See Me (2013) dir. Louis Leterrier
makes it very easy to end up alone. to leave people. you can stay in the same place and still find ways to leave people. you are like that? that’s what you do? wow so. we are the same? i guess so.
