Week 3 - Augmented Reality
I am building narrative on this one...cool factor is high potential! Okay after thinking more about where I was going with this, the connection to me is that AR or augmented reality is perhaps more than just a hot trend. I was impressed with all of the different things can be done with the merge cube. However the coolest aspect is that whatever can be imagined can be mapped onto it and interacted with...solar systems, a cardio vascular system. I am fascinated by learning tech that does not need any expensive hardware that will become obsolete after a minute. Qlone is another AR application that has practical implications for all sorts of learning applications in the “maker” domain. I downloaded the app to our iPad, printed out the capture grid and experimented scanning in a lego guy with my son, he was totally into it working on getting better capture and working through how to capture the bottom side of the lego guy’s feet. Here is another super cool AR education app: Froggipedia
