Graphic in the BioMed Central blog post on our recent paper in Microbiome.
Today we released a paper from our research group at the BioBE Center in Microbiome. The study shows how surfaces in the built environment reflect the ways in which humans come into contact with them. That is, the bacteria on desks are similar to our skin because we often touch them, and chairs are similar to...well, watch the video to find out.
Just for kicks, we made this little whiteboard animation to explain our study. Enjoy!
On Nautilus today is a playful interactive graphic from Jessica Green on the indoor microbiome. Jessica is director of the Biology and the Built Environment Center at the University of Oregon which works to understand how building design and human activities can impact the communities of organisms in our buildings. The art was done by Steve Green.
