The Cumberland Gap National Historic Park was officially dedicated in July of 1959. There was a huge dedication ceremony that featured Vice President Richard Nixon. This was a big deal for our area... This picture shows a crowd gathering at the Hotel Cumberland in Middlesboro for the ceremony.
