Some days, I'm sitting at my desk doing productive work, and I think my mind leaves my body because the next thing I know is that I'm online looking up some obscure thing like where to find naturally blue honey, and I have no clue how I got there.
Am I the only one? I can't be the only one, surely.
their staring into my soul.
plus i got some new markers to fiddle around with.
Well, you are talking about Yahtzee here. He's funny, but he has major biases that he tends to treat like objective fact rather than his own opinion. Granted Earthbound is one of only two RPGs at all he claims to like, but that should suggest how low his tolerance for RPG tropes like grinding is.
I actually can’t recall if he mentioned grinding or not, I’m certain someone who commented did.. but yeah, I’ve always had the feeling he definitely doesn’t have much of a grind tolerance.
I can kinda sympathize. I didn’t have a huge one as a kid… but after getting killed for lack of sufficient leveling, I’ve developed a strange fondness for it. Though after an excessive amount of it I will either just Quick Level Gain, disable random encounters, or simply move on with the game (if the other two aren’t available).
But that literally takes hours and hours for me to reach that point now, ahaha… My friends say I’m rather good with mindless work for some reason, especially stuff like digging in Minecraft.
