Disorientated as he was after the fixup, the other’s presence was noticed not long after the door opened.  Slowly, his head turned towards the left for a better look at who decided to visit. “Come back later if you want an autograph and a pic– not picture perfect yet,” Markus croaked, not caring if his shot at humor fell short.

           𝐒𝐋𝐈𝐌 𝐅𝐑𝐀𝐌𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐒 𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐋𝐋  as the man towering over her speaks. she’s not paying attention and while a blind man could see that... for some reason, this one can’t. she hasn’t been back long, two hours at best but that does nothing to keep people from intruding in her personal space. doe like hues flicker around the town, back to the driftwood where she had just left after announcing her arrival and thanking her bosses for the time off to visit her hometown. her gaze snaps back towards the other, darker with the sudden irritation of having been touched. 

           ❝ don’t fucking touch me, asswipe. ❞ she deadpans tone dangerously calm and hushed. tugging her arm out of his hold, her glare hardens just as persistent hand lifts towards said arm. he’s not aggressive, just completely clueless. there’s a roll of dark eyes as her hand wrap around his arm, shocking him enough for her to roughly flip him onto his back. ❝ do not fucking touch me. ❞ mariana echoes, ignoring the lingering gazes.

“Well...I wonder what all this fuss is about...” Walking through the dreariness of the Congregration’s...building, if you could call it, Carina makes her way to the nave of the church, the sudden flurry of activity rather confusing to her. After all, she’s been camping here for hours, and she’s tired. And bored.

TRYING TO BLEND IN AT WICKWAY MALL, for Leo, was like a lion trying to hide among sheep. Being at least a head taller than everybody else, not to mention the healing black eye he currently had, there was something about him that just... made people move out of his way as he walked. Not that he minded. Made it easier to get through the crowds. Besides, he was used to people being wary of him, and rightly so. He carried the Santoro name and bore the crosses on his hands. 

Stopping briefly at a vendor’s stall to examine something, he could sense somebody’s gaze burning into the cross on his right hand as he reached out but paused, turning his head slowly to meet the gaze of the person who seemed so interested in his hand. “You got something to say to me?” Leo’s voice was gruff, abrupt, as he stared this person down, the other people moving through the mall around them, anybody else who heard his verbal challenge choosing to ignore it.

BUYING A TICKET FOR THE WINTER SOCIAL had been an awfully optimistic move from Mutt. As much as he wanted to go in, mooch around the tents, have a few drinks and loosen up, he’d slowly come to terms with how it was a really, really bad idea. Lizzie would be there, with Ellie, and his in-laws - if Ellie saw him, she’d come running for him, calling out for her daddy and not caring who heard, and as for the in-laws; well, Mutt wasn’t even sure what they knew about him.

Lingering by one of the outermost tents, he stared at the ticket in his hand before sighing and looking up to a passing figure. “Hey, you, uh - need a spare beer ticket? Turns out I don’t need it after all.”

“Large iced black, please.” Giving her ordered seemed silly sometimes, especially when she knew they had probably put it in when they saw her. The perks of the neighborhood coffee shop regular. Offering a polite smile and handing over her cash, she stepped aside to wait for her order. Checking her phone, she hoped more than anything she wouldn’t get called in on her day off, by anyone. Knowing this town, though, that was probably too much to ask for. 

As she waited, eyes trained on her phone, she felt a pair of eyes on her. “Take a picture, it’ll last longer.”

WHILST JACK HAD DISAPPEARED, TJ HAD pretty much become Cooper’s responsible adult, and was keeping a close eye on him, spending a lot of his own time at Jack’s place. After the chaotic proceedings when Dominic had been discovered, and Wickway PD were overrun with things to do, he jumped at the chance to go back again after his leave. It would give him something to focus on in the day, but he’d still be kept up with worry at night.

He’d gotten home from work, stopping by his own place to drop off his things before heading round to feed Cooper and take him on a walk. Only Cooper definitely didn’t seem like himself (hell, neither did TJ) and seemed to want to bark at anything and anyone that came his way.

“Crap, I’m - sorry about that. He’s... a little jumpy today.”

“I hate the rain, don’t you?” his eyes are locked firmly on raindrops rolling down stained glass, hands pushed deep into his pants pockets. the jacket covering his shoulders doesn’t do much to keep out the chill, nor does the ambience of gentle tapping keep out the subtle bite to his voice: an opportunity, not a question.
