There's an indie horror game (currently in development) called Missing Dog.
It is set in a rural town in Western Australia, where dogs start going missing and return as monstrous creatures. So big trigger warning for animal death, animal harm and stuff.

The gameplay will be story lead mixed with action boss fights, like a creepy Stardew Valley and Terraria mix.
There isn't an intended release day yet, the developer, Hiruni (she/her) said on May 22nd 2025 (on the Discord server) that "It is too early to tell, but hopefully when there is more progress made i will be able to give an estimate, but that won’t be for a while. Most likely quite a few years"

It is confirmed that there will be multiple endings. One route you will be able to build a rescue with the help of the townspeople, and look after some dogs. The other routes can range between mercy and extermination… I'm really interested how nuanced will it be, how hard to get the rescue building one, and if there will be other endings in the future. I love me some multiple ending games but I like it when it's not just one choice at the end of the game. I assume it will take multiple choices to get to the one or the other ending, and the different routes will seperate earlier.

My brother’s dog went missing in Burbank, California. Last seen Friday, October 5th. They live the Glenoaks/Tulare cross street.
She’s a female, white poodle mix, goes by the name Robin. She’s small, about 6 or 7lbs with a full, non-cropped tail. Her hair is quite a bit longer than in these photos. She likely is wearing a yellow or yellow and grey collar with no tags. If seen, PLEASE message me. Thanks.

Basically: Storm is a Australian Cattle Dog who went missing. She was described as active and playful by her owners when one day, when they went with her to play in the woods and threw the ball...she never came back. They called for her and searched the area for hours but she wasn't found. What could've happened? Who knows.
