NATG Day 3: A pony training/preparing to train Another year, another Newbie Artist Training Grounds! I'm sure most of you probably know, but every year on Equestria Daily, they host a community event for all of the new and developing artists out there. How so? Every day for 30 days they'll post a prompt, and your job is to draw something following that prompt in the next 24 hours. It can be pony, griffon, dragon, anthro, EQG, whichever! As long as it gets you drawing!
If you do something frequently enough, and ACTIVELY commit yourself to LEARNING whilst doing it, you're going to get better and better. And keep stretching a little bit each time, stacking each time on what you've learned previous. I've got a long way to go myself. Someday I want to do be able to draw/paint detailed backgrounds. I want to eventually draw human form/anthro. And for the love of God, I want to know how to draw hands >_> Activities like EQD's NATG (among other things) helped push me to keep drawing. Sometimes just a little 24 hour deadline and unique prompt is enough to grab motivation. It did for me.
I probably won't get to draw every one of this year's prompts, as of course WOF has me drawing every other night already >_>
But I just wanted to participate with something in the spirit of spreading the word! :D
If you have a desire to learn how to draw ponies, or get better, I highly recommend!
