Tyler was 19 years old and had been on the police force for about a year when the world ended. He was a police officer in the city of Chicago, where he was born and raised. Tyler remained on service for as long as possible, he had been stationed at one of the quarantine zones, helping the military keep everyone in check when things took a turn for the worse. The zone got overrun by walkers pretty fast and it was chaotic. People were running, some were getting ripped apart by walkers and Tyler felt useless in that moment. He knew that if he stayed there, trying to fight the impossible, he would end up dead on the ground so he ran. In the middle of the chaos, Tyler got separated from his partner, someone he cared about a lot and was very important to him. He tried to find her, looked for her through the streets of Chicago on their patrol car but eventually, it got impossible to keep going so he left. He has no idea what happened to her, if she made it out of the city to safety or if she died but he never lost hope and he’s still looking for her today.
He eventually found a place to settle down and remained there for a few years. It has a good food supply, water and even some medicine. It was hidden enough that both walkers and humans wouldn’t be able to find it … or that’s what Tyler thought. Eventually, it got overrun by walkers, just like everything seemed to be in this world, and Tyler had to escape, being able to pack as much of his stuff as possible before running away. He was on the road for a while, making a few stops here and there, being able to spend a few months on some places. Until he arrived in the state of Georgia and met a group of former soldiers, who told him about a new place that was getting built by mostly soldiers. Tyler felt like that was a good place for him, he had mostly kept to himself throughout the years but maybe it was good to be apart of a group, help out and feel like he has a purpose once again. And they say there’s strength in numbers. So Tyler joined the New Order and has been with them for a few years now.
