From my Gallery Show "Processed" up this week at my college.
Memories on film From my photography class
My dog has scooted from the bottom of the bed to between be and my boyfriend and has his head on the back of my head and his paw wrapped around me. He's breathing me in my ear. It's so cute I wanna scream. He's making me feel better about the fact that bae woke me up with his snoring AGAIN
Thoughts for organizing my fashion
I really wanna take photos of my thrifted clothing with my purse collection and form outfits AND/OR draw outfits and make doodles in a sketch book to have like a consistent theme and practice my drawing skills. Maybe I can use that blank bound book I found? it can be a personal fashion guide! With that I need to organize my ACTUAL closet and figure out a better system for organizing purses and other items like shoes. I also want to get a closet organization app that helps me form outfits with the clothes I have/ cycle out old clothes and determine what key pieces I need in my wardrobe. That will help considerably with organization. Note to self: also need Polaroid film! I want to photograph my official bag collection with Polaroid film and put them in a notebook. Or that specific fashion guide notebook too.
So there's this guy that transerred to my school last semester and for the longest time all I knew about him was that 1) he hit on anything with legs and 2) he had super long hair and wears it in a bun. But I never really caught his name so I just started calling him bun guy. And now my guy roommates call him that too and I love it.
Today my boyfriend and I were watching Anastasia it got to the end and this conversation happens: Him: "So she's leaving the crown behind to run off with that guy?!" Me: "I think they're just eloping" Him: "oh, eloping sounds fun..." And then just stared at me for a long time. So I tried to ignore it but he's still looking at me and so I say "do you know what eloping is?" And he's like "yeah... it's... Err.... I thought it was fucking" Boys are so clueless sometimes smh lol
Why it's important to me
Many reasons. Thrifting is actually so therapeutic for me. It's a time I can go out and do something by myself, something I rarely do. I'm almost always around other people. This gives me some time out of the house to think and have some me time. It also gives me the confidence to do my own thing for awhile and not constantly stress about other people. Finding a deal on something is such an awesome feeling. Finding vintage, trinkets, designer brands, useful stuff or just cool shit in general is so much more fun at good will or a thrift store because you happen upon it. Also the deals are awesome. I don't have unlimited cash and goodwill etc. makes treating myself affordable. I've been splurging a bit this summer (I've done the sherman thrift sweep three times) but I think during the year I may include it in my weekly or semi weekly routine and give myself a dollar limit to make it interesting/ a challenge. I'm also going to start a blog for all my finds. It'll be mostly personal as I'm sure I won't get a lot of followers on it, but anyone is welcome to follow it. This is also something my mom and I have been bonding over. She has gotten super into pinterest and has started thrifting and going to garage sales. She also repurposes things, such as our kitchen furniture. She and I went through some of my old grandmas stuff to find trinkets and cool stuff for my new room at my new house. We also did a day of thrifting and I don't think we fought once. It was a lot of fun. Now that I'm living in sherman for college full time we don't get to hangout as often so having a common hobby/ interest is fun. Im sure there's more but that's all for now.
