Back-up ask, in case the other was spoilery! 28 - as a lie

Well, this one got pretty angsty.

And maybe could be categorised as a spoiler...?

28 ... as a lie

Her lungs burn as they race through the halls. She and Callum are both quick now, but They are quicker. She can hear their harsh boots thundering after them, smell the acrid stench of Dark Magic that seems to permeate the air wherever they are.

They are unnaturally fast.

They will catch them.

“Callum.” She glances at him, unsure if he hears her at first.

He turns his head briefly, his eyes questioning.

“Go on.” Her voice cracks just a little. “You need to get out of here.”

“I’m not leaving you!” He glares at her, his face a little contemptuous.

“You have to.” She slows a little as she unsheathes her twin blades. “You have to escape. Fly to the Breech. Get help.”

“Rayla, that’s ridiculous.” He tries to grab her wrist, pull her along with him. “I can take us.”

But They are too fast. They have Dark Magic on their side.

“I can give you time.” She feels her throat close. Maybe a little.

Hopefully enough.

“Rayla-”

He tries to argue with her, but she presses her lips to his, silencing him.

“You have to get out of here. You know that.” She insists, her eyes darting behind her.

Callum shakes his head. “No-” His protest is weak.

They both know she speaks the truth. This is more important than either of them.

Pushing him, she turns to run in the opposite direction.

She glances over her shoulder briefly. “I’ll be right behind you.”

She lies.

K: What's the angstiest idea you've ever come up with?

Yeahhhh so once upon a time during my brainstorming process I came up with the idea that Viren convinces Callum that both Rayla and Ezran are dead, in order to break him/get him to do what he wants, especially since Callum would have blamed himself because the plan that got them into that mess was his idea. And it, uh, would have worked, at least initially.

I ended up not going with that idea for that particular story, but I haven't completely scrapped it because it's so deliciously angsty, and it will probably make an appearance in a later story...

Soren for the character ask ❤️

Why I like them: Soren is amazing, he’s charismatic, funny, and had an amazing journey to start to learn how to be himself and I admire that.

Why I don’t: He’s had a few moments (mostly in Season 2) where I had the hardest time understanding him.

Favorite episode (scene if movie): 3x08

Favorite season/movie: S3

Favorite line: “My dad is a villain.”

Favorite outfit: The look of him without the armor and just the black shirt that we see in the credit sketches is *chef’s kiss*

Brotp: Rayla & Claudia

Head Canon: One of the reasons Soren bullied Callum was because unlike Lissa, Sarai didn’t plan to leave Callum. Also, Sarai was like a mother to Soren and Claudia

A wish: Develop more of his and Claudia’s relationship

An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: Please don’t kill him or have him join the bad guys

Do you have headcanons for tdp characters’ favorite foods? (I think I’m hungry and my mind is one-tracking here 😄)

We have more or less canon info for Amaya, Soren and Ezran (breakfast/oatmeal cookies, pancakes and jelly tarts) I think Callum probably likes salty-sweet more than pastries, so candied nuts or salted caramel for him. Claudia I headcanon as liking weird experimental flavors so she’d probably be really into sour/tangy stuff like tamarind candy. 

Ethari i can see liking tofu. 

and Viren strikes me as the kind of guy who generally treats food like it’s something he’s obligated to do rather than enjoys, but has a fondness for something a lot of other people find offputting, like pickled mackerel or vegemite.
