First Class Recorded Dopeness

First Class Recorded DopenessFor those of you that don’t already know, February brought the online release of One Oz’ new E.P produced by Micall Parknsun “1stClass Recorded Delivery”.  Having already forged a reputation for dropping some of the sickest lyrics coming out of Edinburgh, it’s no surprise that this E.P is pure FIRE from start to finish.  With every track One Oz shows that he has what it takes to deliver the kind of lyrics that grab you from within the speaker and take you on a journey, every track showing the listener that no matter what kind of feeling the epic beats might invoke.. He’s got it covered.

Props have to be given to Micall Parknsun for production also, this E.P has now taken up permanent residence in my playlist due to the perfect blend that Parknsun seems to drop effortlessly, and the seamless combination of One Oz’ signature sound, as if pieces of a puzzle were fitting together.

With the E.P consisting of 7 tracks, it’s impossible to decide which of them I would consider my favourite tracks… because all of them are REALLY good.  Every track had my head nodding more than the Churchill hound on a bucking bronco!  But if you were to need convincing that this track is DEFINITELY worth the £3 for the download, I would recommend “100%”, “Piffsmoke (feat. Micall Parknsun)” with Parknsun dropping a verse alongside One Oz and “Longevity” which is an OUTSTANDING track if you have 4:20 on your mind.

Personally I think this is another incredible effort by One Oz and Micall Parknsun and should most definitely NOT be slept on.  Forget “1st Class Recorded Delivery”… This E.P should have been called “1st Class Recorded DOPENESS!”.

Christmas Special: Paraletic Universe Records

Christmas is almost over, I'm just sitting here to find something to do after two days of heavy eating. Hope you guys had as nice Christmas as me or even better.

PARALETIC UNIVERSE RECORDS

It all started in 2009 when DJ Sokol was already working in his small bedroom studio where he would invite hip-hop heads and DJs he knew and would have sessions where they make beats and scratch and started to write some raps. Throughout that time and with a little bit of help from DJ Blaze he met people like OneOZ, Elmi Tha Moshi, Konda, and so on. That's when he decided to form the label under the name Paraletic Universe Records.

Soon after it began to take off. Sokol with help of his friends built some kind of fan base and started to make contacts. This is when he met Tragic Pro who is also a DJ and producer. This record label isn't just like every other one in Edinburgh or even Scotland. It connects two cultures and makes music on two fronts. It's because they work with local, Scottish artists and also Polish artists that have come over here. The artists that work with P.U.R are: OneOZ, Elmi Tha Moshi, Sean El which I would call a Scottish Division. There is also a Polish Division which includes Mr. P, Lechu, Tragic Pro and DJ Sokol himself who also raps. These are the artists that officially work with the label but there are few unsigned artists that release their music through Paraletic Universe Records. Silvertongue, OneTzu and a lot more are associated with the record label.

Over past years they have released a lot of projects, some of them are free and some of them are not. All links are given below. They also have their own hip-hop night called Dirty District at the bar Steamie, which has quite bit of history of migrating from place to place but all of that for the better! They are still involved with a lot of local events such as Spectrum Cyphers, TMFC Sketch & Rhyme, Terror or just one-off events like supporting Jeer Da Damaja, Souls of Mischief, Masta Ace or Action Bronson.

Soon Paraletic Universe will be releasing more projects. One of the major upcoming projects will have the P.U.R artists on the record and also Brooklyn's very own Ruste Juxx from Duck Down Records. OneOZ is working on his EP right now and so is Mr. P, who is close to releasing an album as well.

As I mentioned before they had some projects released over the past year so here we go!
