I adore sun/moon ryomina dynamic... but specifically how ryoji is the moon to makoto's sun. in the way that the moon is a reflection of the sun's light. without the sun there is so moon, but also the moon brings meaning to the sun's existence...

first off !! the twilight wants him back by @chatlote

it's a canon divergent fix-it fic that takes place from november onwards featuring sees ryoji :> I think my favourite thing abt this fic is the way lina characterises both ryoji and makoto, like I genuinely adore how she writes them in this fic. both of their inner worlds feel so rich and detailed and i adore how the pov switches give us a look into makoto and ryoji's different outlooks !! seeing makoto and ryoji's different perspectives on the same events is so interesting and it adds so much depth of their interactions. it's been such a joy so far to watch those two slowly get to know each other while also exploring how makoto's dealing with everything he's experienced up until then (the way she shows how makoto's been dealing with loss is so. augh <3) and I'm so excited to see where this fic is headed ^_^ every update has me kicking my feet in excitement hehe

and then there's persephone's curse by @sweet-sirin

this fic took me on such an emotional rollercoaster that it hasn't stopped rolling around in my brain since I read it. it takes place post canon and if u know abt persephone than u can probably take a guess as to where this fic is going. I don't wanna say too much bcs I think this fic is best experienced knowing as little abt it as possible but its just a beautiful exploration of ryoji and makoto's characters and just how stubborn they can be in their own ways, especially ryoji. there's so many scenes in this fic that are just stuck in my brain. it felt like every single scene and every piece of dialogue has some sort of underlying/second meaning and it was a ride unpacking everything as I was reading. everything feels so purposeful and meaningful its just so. augh. it emotionally destroyed me and I don't think I'll ever recover <3 it'll live in a special corner of my brain forever

Also !! I haven't really gone down the ryomina fic rabbit hole myself yet so if you or anyone reading has some fic recs of their own please send them my way !! 🙏🙏

Honestly Ryomina makes me fucking insane like everytime i think about them i start to combust and fly around like a rocket

Just .. Them being together ever since Minato was ten, i imagine them as childhood friends of sorts, but in a extremely gut wrenching way, Ryoji learned everything through the eyes of Minato, and even when there was nothing but sadness in Minato's life, im sure Ryoji just saw all that with so much wonder

and i imagine Ryoji not understanding everything in his surroundings, but everytime Minato feels bad, he himself feels as if his entire being is set on fire

SO IMAGINE, Minato crying on the floor, back on the wall, hes just a little child with so much sadness within himself for whatever reason, and he just hears a voice that seems like his own, but also completely different "I'm with you, it's okay." and he doesn't understand, but he knows it's true, the only person who's with him through it all is himself, and for some reason, he feels it really is okay.

YEAH ME TOO ANON ME TOO 🤝🤝 YOU UNDERSTAND YOU GET ME if i think about them too hard i feel like I'm gonna explode. I'm internally bouncing around the walls.

ALSO OUUUGGGH WHY DID U HAVE TO COME INTO MY INBOX WITH THIS :(( <- /POS ryoji feeling everything minato's feeling with so much intensity... (bcs he's never experienced anything like emotions before) AUGH... I love them being unaware childhood friends, but also something so much more intimate than just childhood friends soso much, I'm nodding. you get it anon. ough. (also I'm not gonna get the image of little mina being comforted by ryoji out of my brain orz) The strange familiarity when ryoji and minato "meet" and the inescapable feeling that they've known eachother their entire lives and they know eachother like they know themselves. yeah.

I adore the idea death being minato's only comfort throughout those 10 years... death took so much and yet it was the only sort of companion mina had. death was right there with him for every dark hour he had to experience alone for those 10 years of his life...

I have some hcs regarding fashion and such !! I've kinda been thinking about this a bunch ever since I made those casual outfits for ryoji

-ryoji loves expressing himself through fashion, he really enjoys experimenting with clothes and discovering his style

-he likes going on shopping outings with yukari (minato has been dragged along a lot as well) (yukamitsu ryomina double shopping dates !!)

-ryoji's a big fan of yellow and also just any bright colours that go well with it. he's a bright and colourful boy :>

-minato never really cared much about fashion or style, a t-shirt is usually just good enough for him (his style is just. if its comfy and it looks nice then its good) and he's not a fan of bright colours or anything that makes him stand out too much. ryoji's been trying to get him to experiment a bit

and here's some of my more general hcs for them ^_^

-ryoji's a lot quieter when its just him and minato and minato smiles more around ryoji (minato is completely unaware of how much he smiles in ryojis presence and he'll get a lil embarrassed if someone points it out)

-minato's sleepy and tired all of the time. chronically sleepy (<- lol). god's sleepiest soldier. but he feels super comfortable having naps around ryoji. sleeping when he's nearby just feels safe.

-if ryoji and minato are hanging out at the dorm together, there is a fairly high chance that minato will end up asleep.

-also i like to imagine that if the two of them have a movie night at the dorm, they'll both end up asleep by the end with koromaru all cosied up with them too (<- i should draw this sometime)

-minato's super introverted. while he loves spending time around the ppl he cares about, he only has so much energy for socialising. ryoji is the one person minato can spend all his day around without draining the social battery

-also minato's a pretty quiet guy, he's a man of little words. he prefers to listen to people, rather than be the one leading the conversation. and bcs ryoji and mina know eachother like they know themselves, they don't always need to communicate verbally. I like to think they spend a lot of their time sitting in comfortable silence together

-ryoji's super fascinated and interested by all the simple joys in life. whenever he's out with minato he'll point out things like pretty flowers, birds, the way the clouds look. and they'll stop to admire the sunset if they're out late. and of course minato takes a lot of interest in the things ryoji points out to him :>

also i hc ryoji as bi and minato as greyromantic ace ^_^ !! ryoji and minato's relationship is something so much more than a typical romantic relationship to me

ryomina is such a comfy ship simply because they're literally a part of each other. even though they ironically sound creepy without a context (a death lives inside a human for 10 years? lol), but this is excatly the reason why they meant for each other. they only feel right when they're together :>

BUT ALSO !!! i just love how much kindness he holds and how steadfast his views are despite everything the world throws at him (the one scene where he stops dunban from killing mumkhar has always stood out in my brain to me. as well as the moment he has with egil after the fight at mechonis core). and also he's so very autistic to me <3

also I love alvis my silly little super computer who speaks in riddles. and !! shalvis is one of my favourite ships of all time, those two are very near and dear to my heart :>

and uh um yeah my namesake. there's a reason why i stole his name for myself LMAO (also I'm just very normal about pre experiment earth, galea, klaus and the trinity processors. I'm so very normal abt that part of xenoblade lore. u can imagine how i reacted to the end of xb3 future redeemed lol)

OH MY GOD ALSO...!! I've had this on my brain a lot lately... I feel like aigis and fiora would be besties ^_^ two robot girlies who were built to be weapons and are struggling with their identity and feeling "human enough".... yeah
