From the partnership of Ken Tominaga and Michael Mina comes Pabu San Francisco, a modern izakaya style Japanese restaurant in the San Francisco financial district.
We went and opted for the tasting menu:
Happy Spoon - Kusshi Oyster, Uni Custard, Ikura, Tobiko, Ponzu Creme Fraiche - One of the signature dishes
Kanpachi with yuzukosho, ponzu, tobiko, pine nuts and fried shallots
Inpira Burdock with Umami soy, togarashi chili
Madai - Sea Bream with Lemon and Salt
Medai - Butterfish with soy
Kinmedai - Alfonsino and Soy
Kamasu - Japanese Barracuda with ginger and soy
Aji - Horse Mackerel with Ginger and scallions
Masaba - Japanese Mackerel with Kombu
Sayori - Japanese Halfbeak with ginger
Shima Aji - Striped Jack with Yuzukosho and soy
