Okay hear me out, cafe/barista AU with the beasts, where the cafe is really popular and they let the workers dress however they want, as long as money comes in, so imagine Silent salt using his armor with a apron and is called "the knight of silence" by the clients. Plus him randomly showing up with his horse to work.
Shadow milk being called "the deceitful jester", as he always messes up orders in some way on purpose, and is definitely always lying when customers ask him things, like "What drink do you recommend?" He's saying a random drink that he never even made in his entire life and probably tastes horrible. Or "Where's the bathroom?" And he'd point to the opposite side.
Eternal Sugar is definitely called "the lazy angel" as she usually makes drinks slowly, and yet most customers (especially men) forgive it as she just looks absolutely divine, how can someone be mad at someone so beautiful?
Burning Spice would be called "the destroyer" for obvious reasons. Every drink order he delivers has the markings of his claws or is a bit crumpled, not to mention he looks at customers like they killed his entire family or something.
Mystic Flour? I'm not sure how she'd be called, but maybe "the apathic perfectionist" as every drink she delivers is always perfect, 10/10 and has never failed an order in her entire time working. But she talks like a robot to customers and acts like nothing matters.
And reader? Reader would be just a worker who works there longer than them and likes alternative fashion.
I'm also thinking about the minions and the ancients being there along with other cookies... But idk.
I think if I do write the minions in, Candy Apple and Black Sapphire would be actual siblings in high school (10th and 12th grade, 15 and 17) who admire Shadow Milk for whatever reason (Candy apple a little too much, but it'd be like a high school kid crush.).
Cloud Hatae would be in like 8-9th grade and would go to the cafe by themselves only when Mystic Flour is working, other wise he'd only go if his mother (who's very much alive here, thank you) would ask them to buy her a coffee when she's working (definitely working from home and they live near the cafe). Maybe Mystic Flour stopped some kids from bullying poor Cloud Hatae, so now he likes her.
Nutmeg would probably be out of highschool already, being like 19 and still undecided if she wants to go to the military or become a police officer, and yet something she likes is working out. Maybe she'd admire that Burning Spice works out too (bro has VERY visible muscles k?dude literally works without a shirt.) but she wouldn't really like the way he stares. It's creepy.
Paviola and Sugarfly would be the highschool sweethearts who stayed together and even now that one is in college and one is working, they're still dating and go to the cafe in most of their dates.
Oh! And I can't forget Peach Blossom! He'd be a regular, always coming at the same time every day and ordering the same thing, a Peach Raspberry Lemonade. No matter if it's winter or summer he's having his drink.
And then there's Silent Salt's "minion", idk what he is to my beautiful husband, but he looks old so I'm letting him stay old. Plus probably works at a cemetery and needs A LOT of caffeine, so he's a usual client. Like Peach blossom, he's at the cafe everyday at the same hour ordering the same thing.
Now the ancients.
White Lily works part time, she's in college and got in with a half-payed scholarship, not to mention she had to pay her mini ass apartment, as she's the one who probably picks up extra shifts.
My girl Golden Cheese also works part-time and is in college (all the ancients are if I'm being honest), she's in the business mayor along Dark Cacao, and idk what to say anymore.
Talking about Dark Cacao, this is totally unrelated, but his favorite client is Peach blossom. That dude is chill and they like eachother.
Pure Vanilla is probably who worked there first of the ancients, then mentioned to his friends that the job payed good and that he worked there after college.
And HollyBerry! Girl already frequented the cafe in her highschool years, and now she's working there, ironic, isn't it?
I think the beasts + reader would be around 26/27, and the ancients college age, like 21-23.
I'm probably gonna write this? Absolutely. But only after my beloved beautiful majestic Silent Salt comes out, as I don't want to get his personality wrong. (I'm cheering for his horse to be called pepper btw.)
Damn. Just realized how long this post is after finishing writing 😭
Hello ! First one ask here, hum... Hope you don't mind but could you write a poly Beasts x Angel reader please ? Like they know them even before they got corrupted and still love them even if they're Beasts, but when they got sealed, the WITCHES decided to punish us as we couldn't stop them and trapped us in a mirror as we couldn't find a way out, and after centuries, the Beasts got free and were looking for their angel, they found them in a old, ruin temple and found the mirror and where we are, so they decided to take care of us and freed us from this curse. We still as gentle and sweet to them as before even if we got trapped, and for more, the witches took us our powers so we can't exactly protect or fight again as before...
Hope you have a good day too !!
YES YES YES I LOVE POLY BEASTS AAAAA-
THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH!!!!
They/Them reader~
You used to be one of the strongest cookies on all of Earthbread.
You were an angel watching over the five virtues and doing your best to help them whenever and wherever you could. It didn't take long for them to sit you down and propose a relationship between all six of you that you sheepishly agreed to, flattered at the thought that they all wanted to give you back the kind of love you had always shown them and other cookies and much more. It was definitely a lot to get used to but you wouldn't have had it any other way.
You'd find yourself being praised by the Herald of Change himself, held by the Sugar of Happiness, gifted many things by the Cookie of Volition, taught many things by the Fount of Knowledge and were listened to by the Knight of Solidarity.
You were grateful everyday and with the way you would return their gestures with such adoration in your eyes, the virtue holders felt as though the witches had truly blessed their lives with your presence.
But all good things eventually end, don't they?
When your beloved virtues corrupted, the witches could not allow you to be imprisoned by any regular means. They had made you a special prison that gradually drained your magic and left you to become a regular cookie who happened to be immortal. A mirror that was sat to rot in a dungeon guarded by a mighty guardian.
However, time allowed the memory of you to fade. Soon, cookies no longer spoke of six heroes, but five. Your tale was doomed to be forgotten entirely but not to the Beasts... They were the only ones to remember your loving and loyal nature.
It wasn't all that surprising that you were on their minds soon after being freed. Each of them confronting the cookies who now held their virtues and demanding to know what the witches had done with you. When the Ancients showed no sign of even knowing who they were talking about. They had quickly made sure to search their old homes for any trace of your existence. They knew you must still be alive and they were determined not to let anything stop them from finding their sweet angel.
They ended up stumbling upon the remains of the guardian who had been watching over your dungeon and as they had feared... It required the virtues to open.
And although reluctant, they had to compromise with the Ancients to open the dungeon.
"For your information, we are doing this because- as far as we can know- this [Reader] cookie is innocent through all this and wrongfully imprisoned." Pure Vanilla sternly stated as he followed close behind Shadow Milk. The beasts were a little less than happy about their company(safe for Eternal Sugar with Hollyberry) but decided to call it a truce after Hollyberry suggested there might be more throughout the dungeon they would need help with. If this dungeon was made by the witches, they wouldn't want to only have one virtue dependant security measure in place.
And her observations were more than correct. Almost every puzzle in this frustratingly deep and dark dungeon required knowledge that came to light while the beasts were imprisoned or straight up requiring the virtues to be nearby.
As frustrating as it was though, it all felt worth it when the cookies came across your prison in a dimly lit room. The only light came from cracks in the walls and ceiling that allowed the flora around to force its way inside and subsequently allowed light to hit the mirror reflecting your form.
The twist? inside the mirror was a pocket dimension you have been wandering almost hopelessly ever since you were taken. You had long lost the strength to fly as the labyrinth the witches built for you seemed to go on endlessly, with nothing to feed you which inevitably had your form look as pale as the walls around you. You had even forgotten to take care of your wings, which were matted and stiff against your back while you wandered. You couldn't see the outside of the mirror so you were oblivious to the enraged and horrified looks of your precious Beasts and the Ancients to the state the witches left you in. It almost felt more cruel than what they all had to endure...
"At least we found the poor cookie..." Hollyberry sighed, allowing Eternal Sugar to hold the mirror like it was an instrument to be careful with. "How are we meant to break them out? Do we need to break the mirror?"
"Absolutely not!" Shadow Milk interjected, looking possibly the most serious he had been in several days. "[Reader] cookie was imprisoned by the witches and I highly doubt they would make this dungeon require you lot only for the mirror to be an easy fix."
Pure Vanilla could only agree with his other half, trying to think about what might be the solution based on their previous puzzles. "It will definitely require magic but I wonder what kind..." He clearly pitied you and wanted to help get you out but the question was what the key was.
Up until now the puzzles were some sort of combination between the virtues and beasts being needed so the witches must've thought to connect them somehow...
"We'll need to guide them somehow..." Mystic Flour muttered in suggestion, gaining an agreeing nod from Dark Cacao. "The question is how we can get their attention."
That seemed to spark an idea in Shadow Milk's mind. "I have a better idea!" He grinned widely, carefully taking the mirror from Eternal Sugar's arms and laying it down onto the floor before gently lowering small puppets down to the surface. "Vanilly~ If you may~?"
Pure Vanilla didn't understand a thing but figured he could go along with it, using his magic on the mirror which shockingly did the trick!
The puppets simply reached through the glass and lowered down further and further until they were in the labyrinth right behind you...
"Hey~ How about a little help?" His voice made you tense up and without even turning away, you sat down into a fetal position and began covering your ears much to everyone's shock. It didn't help that you started repeating "It's not real" as if the puppets gently grabbing you were mere hallucinations. You never even dared to open your eyes, thinking that you were simply driving yourself mad again even as the strings holding the puppets carefully wrapped around you to lift you out.
Needless to say, it was a shock when you opened your eyes and were suddenly being held by Shadow Milk. Silence was all that could be heard aside from your shaken breath as your exhausted eyes met his, shortly followed by glancing around to see the other cookies and observing the fabric of his new outfit. It was obvious you were in disbelief and were making sure this was all real before your voice came out in broken tones.
"Blueberry..." You muttered that name you had remembered for the first time in forever and your wings slowly began sinking towards the floor, followed by the rest of your body giving out and collapsing into Shadow Milk as if all your exhaustion crept up on you all at once.
You were knocked out for a good few hours. Enough for them all to bring you back to the kingdom and have the sugar gnomes take care of you in Pure Vanilla's Vanilla Sanatorium until you could wake up...
With all the beasts on either side of the bed you were in...
When you opened your eyes again, you still had trouble convincing yourself you were out of the mirror. But the way your body relaxed and felt the mattress holding you, you couldn't pass it off as a hallucination. "I'm... Free..."
Well... Your voice was hoarse and hurt a bit but it felt surprisingly better from when you first got out. Your wings even felt much lighter now which you could only guess was Eternal Sugar's doing. It made you smile, the heart monitor grabbing your attention as you noticed it displaying your increased heart rate just in time for one of the beasts having slept at your bedside to wake up.
"Take it easy..." Burning Spice muttered from across the bed, making you realize they had all been clinging to your arms this whole time.
Well... Shadow Milk and Eternal Sugar were. Burning Spice and Mystic Flour had been resting their heads by the end of the bed while Silent Salt was sitting in a chair a little behind Burning Spice and sleeping with his head tilted back. The sight made you tear up with a smile. "I'm home..."
But your shaking and sniffling soon woke up the rest of the beasts, who were quick to check on you with a mixture of concern for your health & mental state and rage for what the witches had done to you.
With Eternal Sugar wiping your tears, it felt like your spark was coming back and you reached up to cup both her and Shadow Milk's faces gently. "Blueberry Milk-"
"It's... We have new names now..." Shadow Milk interrupted you quietly, waiting on your nod to show you understood.
They each went through telling you their new names and you listened patiently, not missing the way they all seemed to slightly retract once it was clear they had changed.
You could only stare at them for a couple of seconds but it felt like an eternity before you spoke up again. "How about a kiss for all of you..? I've missed you guys so much..." You tried to chuckle awkwardly but were promptly cut off when Eternal Sugar took the opportunity to kiss you first, her lips feeling as soft as you had remembered. Although, the other beasts became a bit playful after that as they each attempted to get their turn as soon as your lips were freed.
It made your face heat up pleasantly, giggling at the way they simultaneously attempted to mind your healing body while also trying to get as close as possible for their kisses. They were still the loveable and wonderful cookies you feel in love with and the heart monitor didn't fail to capture the way your heart fluttered at their affections.
"You might be beasts... But you're still the same cookies that captured my heart..." You spoke as best as you could, watching them relax a little under your gaze and throw you longing looks. They luckily missed you as much as you missed them. "You look just as stunning as the day I lost you..."
That seemed to darken their dough in heavy blushes. Even Silent Salt seemed flustered despite the lack of facial expression to read. You were just happy to be back. "But how did you find me? And how did you know how to save me?"
"My dear, sweet [Reader] cookie... The witches were foolish in their designs. All we had to do was convince the new 'Heroes' to help us through the dungeon with with a simple combination of magic, the mirror opened for us flawlessly!" Shadow Milk practically boasted their success until the opening of a door drew everyone's attention.
Much to the Beasts' dismay, it was Pure Vanilla. "Oh good, you're awake! How do you feel?" He asked gently, ignoring the way the Beasts were split between giving you their full attention and showing obvious distrust with the healer. Not like you could blame them once you saw the familiar virtue on Pure Vanilla that you knew once belonged to Shadow Milk. This must be one of the new heroes then...
"Definitely much better. I'll have a lot to adjust to though..." You smiled politely, not wishing to cast judgement too soon. "You must be one of the new heroes. How long was I sealed away?" You tried to make it sound like light conversation but everyone in the room knew this topic would weigh heavy on your soul.
"I... Cannot say for certain. However, if it had been roughly the same time that the Beasts were imprisoned, it would be about [X] years." His words made your smile falter as you processed his words. "Ah... I see..."
You could've sworn you saw Burning Spice from the corner of your vision grumbling and heard him talk about common cookies being foolishly forgetful. You were hurt by the realization you were forgotten so easily but there was nothing you could really do right now. "Thank you anyways. Your kindness is admirable."
Pure Vanilla just nodded, recognizing that you needed some more time to you and your lovers while you caught a glance outside where the other Ancients seemingly waited. It was sweet to think that your lovely Beasts were able to set aside their negative feelings to ensure your safety.
You stayed just for a couple more weeks, being tested and examined as the sugar gnomes confirmed the only thing setting you apart from common cookies now was your wings and immortality. You lost everything else.
You were devastated, being reduced to a mere accessory for the Beasts. However, they were determined to cheer you up and show that you were still their sweetest cookie. You even declined Hollyberry's offer to help you settle into a nice house because you didn't wish to live alone.
You wanted to be with your Beasts for as long as possible, meaning they had an entire timetable to have you stay with one of them each month. That way, you could spend equal amounts of time with them individually and none of them were restricted from seeing you as they already had regular times where they would gather around to spend quality time together. It was just that now you seemed to be at the middle of the cuddle pile everytime.
It made you feel loved but you also still felt as though you didn't deserve it.
You couldn't fight alongside any of them anymore. They knew that fact was eating away at your mind and despite desperately making sure to keep your mind off the topic as long as possible, they knew that it was ultimately better to just hold you and reassure you that nothing could make them stop loving you.
You were still Burning Spice's determined flame, Eternal Sugar's sweet angel, Mystic Flour's reason to believe, Shadow Milk's winged doll and Silent Salt's refuge. They didn't care how strong you were physically when you understood and knew them better than even their own minions. Hell, you were the one their minions called for help when they ran out of options to calm their beastly masters down.
It wasn't even like you didn't still keep up with them in some way. You started playing a game with Burning Spice where he could let our his energy and you could train to get back to your former strengths, spent time in Eternal Sugar's paradise to relax and let your worries wash away, meditated with Mystic Flour in search of clarity and maybe answers to one day get back your abilities, played part in Shadow Milk's shows to forget the world briefly and just enjoy some make-believe and you would sit with Silent Salt to let Earthbread feel peaceful once more.
None of them failed to take note of how your wings would always inevitably drape over them as if you were worried that they'll disappear again. They made sure to drown out those whispers of doubt in your mind and watching your dough darken when they manage to fluster you. It was both comforting you and amusing them so a win-win for both sides.
And that dazed look you'd get whenever they decided to overwhelm you with their love? They couldn't get enough of it! Oh, they loved the fact they could still get in your head like that even after all those years of being apart. It was like they could turn off your thoughts like a lamp...
If only you just stopped such silly worries altogether...
