I normally don’t post via the Mobile App, because I’m not a fan of it outside of notifications. But I’m posting this Post this way because My laptop, which is only a year old, just up and died on Me in the middle of a group ritual. My Brother is going to take a look at it in an hour or so, but more likely than not I’m going to have to replace this laptop.

The past few days have been crazy with a personal ritual, as well as group rituals with the two Blind Polytheist groups I’m a member of, the Travelers of the Gateway and Shadow Circle of Luna. Anyway, I’m still reeling from having the Polytheistic Practices I practice being brought down to only Irish and Norse. Losing a lot of the ones I’ve been looking into, feeling a strong connection with, etc, is bad enough, but also losing My practice and relationship with the Welsh gods is devistating. It has Me on the back foot for sure. But I can’t ignore what came up and was confirmed by seven different People, plus a personal divination I did with Brighid.

Hermes doesn’t play fair

So Hermes hijacked my tarot cards earlier- and this is the deck allied to Angelic beings! He’s been trying to persuade me to becoming a devotee these past few days and I’ve been shrugging it off partially because I’m happy with focusing primarily on Aphrodite at the moment, but primarily because I don’t feel I have the means to add another deity at the moment (hell, I usually feel bad about neglecting ‘dite sometimes, and I already feel bad about not working with most of the Theoi practically at all; although, I am getting better about it, but I digress) but now I don’t think I have a choice in the matter.

Reminder About Astral Projecting/Traveling

I’ve been seeing a lot of folks desperately wanting to learn astral projection for spirit/deity communication, and I just want to reminded people:

ASTRAL PROJECTION/TRAVEL IS NOT NECESSARY TO INTERACT WITH SPIRITS AND/OR GODS, AND ANYONE WHO TELLS YOU OTHERWISE IS LYING.

I don’t want to discourage anyone who really wants to learn how to do things on the astral, but I also want to put it out there that there are other ways to communicate with spirits/gods and not everyone is wired for astral projection/travel, and that’s okay. I don’t know that I personally ever managed to travel, let alone project, but I still have deep, fulfilling relationships with the spirits in my life.

And I can already hear the “but, Nonir, don’t you have a godphone? You don’t need to go to the astral if you can already hear them” protests. To which I say: I didn’t always, and I still have large swatches of time where my “hearing” is off. That doesn’t mean I don’t still chatter at them or do divination to communicate.

The long and short of it is that your relationship(s) with spirits/gods is yours and yours alone. Don’t buy into this idea that you absolutely must astral project/travel in order to interact with spirits. There is no “absolute musts” when it come to these things beyond “you absolutely must do your best not to actively harm yourself or others” (which, imo, is pretty much a must in normal life anyway).

Trust me on this. Buying into any of those things that people try to pass off as a necessity can be incredibly harmful. I’m honestly still recovering from my time buying into it when I was in a very unhealthy relationship with someone who was “astral projecting/traveling” all over the place and trying to force me to do the same. So please don’t do that to yourselves. It’s really not worth it. I promise. You and the entities you’re interacting with/want to interact with will find other ways to communicate--I promise.

Interruption

Is anyone else inordinately annoyed when someone interrupts shrine/altar time?

I know logically that it's probably not a big deal, but I feel as if the space is just disrupted and wrecked when that happens.

Also, why knock if you're not going to wait for an answer? ¿

I hate to be negative like this but I really feel almost like I've been abandoned by my gods. I don't know how to move past this, or past feeling bitter that I don't feel like they're here for me. If I am really important to you, then freaking act like it.

Polytheist Problems

Wanting and sort of having room for separate altars for my Kemetic deities, my Norse deity, and the ancestors, but also having to put three shelves worth of books in storage in order to have that room.
