You sounded so excited over foxhole court okay HAHAHHAA 😂🙈👌🏼
i get so excited over it and people reading bc its so good
Why is thermodynamics your least fave subject hahaha
I don’t like how it’s so much memorization and there’s so many tables (luckily all my tests were open notes/open book but still it’s tricky to know when to use which equation!). Looking back it wasn’t too bad, I just preferred classes like differential equations and statics because they’re much more intuitive to me I guess. Thanks for the ask! :)
Your handwriting is so nice it looked like the words are printed on there or something along those lines. Holy mama I wanna write like you oh man 😍😍😍😍
Ahhhh you’re so nice, this makes me so happy! (•‿•) I hope you have a great day and happy holidays!!
31) One piece of advice to someone out there considering applying to medicine. 32) Something you’d like to tell your younger self. 33) Your favourite body part/anatomical term… 36) If you were a disease, you’d be… 37) You’re fronting your own medically themed band. It’s called… 38) Most useless fact you’ve learned in uni so far… 39) Tell us an exam horror story. Thank you! ☺️ :)
I love answering questions but I don’t remember reblogging anything with numbers :P
31: I usually write a spiel about not treating your ECs as check boxes, but I realized there’s something more important to consider.
If I’ve learned anything during third year, the most important thing for you to develop as a pre-med are your interpersonal skills. Odds are you won’t pick them up as you’re hiding in a study room during 1st and 2nd year, and by 3rd year you’re thrust into the public sphere where you actually need them. One would hope the application and interview process screens for this exact thing, but they don’t. That you may want to do pathology or diagnostic rads is irrelevant–you still have at least two, probably three years where you’re in other front-facing specialties where you have to deal with people.
Some of the stories I’ve heard are incredible. There’s a student on surgery (generally speaking, one of the harder rotations) with one of my friends who routinely shows up late, doesn’t study the topics assigned to her, and then has the gall to ask for multiple days off. This person also dropped the ball on signing up for call and was assigned tonight by default. Well, they bought a plane ticket to fly home tonight and for the past two weeks they have been arguing with the residents about having to come in. I was like man… if you just did what you were supposed to do they probably would have worked with you. Or a student would have traded with you.
I feel like it’s hard to legitimately fail a rotation but this is a scenario where you probably would. Be honest, be introspective with yourself. Take a good hard look at how you interact with the world. Work on the issues that are going to cause you trouble down the road.
32: You just need to chill out, get some exercise, and properly invest yourself in the things you signed up to do. Do you first, the rest will come after. Your friends are already telling you this but you’re too stubborn to listen. You’ll be so much happier when you finally accept this ten years from now. Also you’re not as nice as you think you are, stand your ground but don’t be a dickhead.
33: I’m not neuro- or psych-bound, but definitely the brain. It’s one of the last frontiers of medicine. We know a lot more about it than we did 100 years ago, but we still struggle to address many mental illnesses and cognitive deficits.
36: I imagine if you shrunk me down and turned me into an infectious organism, it’d probably be Giardia. It’s the facial expression.
37: Loop of Don Henle. We’re also an Eagles cover band.
38: Useless is pretty relative. But finding out that my medical school used to play major undergraduate colleges in sporting events was pretty funny, albeit totally useless. At the time I guess it was a good way to spread awareness of the osteopathic profession.
39: I have a bunch, the worst one was when I showed up 20 minutes late to a block exam while also being sick. I failed miserably in 2 or 3 sections and that became a turning point in my career. A year later, I found out from another student how easy it was to call in and get your exam postponed...
