If we maybe happen to start planning a musical for the school, you think there's any chance I can get you on board? I know that's not your department, but maybe advertisement and advice? Pretty please?

ABOUT ADELINE
Raised by a strong, independent mother, and a father who tried to be in the picture but more often than not failed, Addy Corcoran’s life was shaped significantly by her upbringing. Although she wouldn’t readily admit so, her father’s failings brought about a deep fear of rejection, causing something of a grapple between Addy wanting to close off and push everybody away, and aching to follow her mother’s lead as a boss, badass bitch. If Shelby didn’t need a significant other to complete her, then why should Addy care about having only one real parent making any significant amount of effort in her life?
Under Shelby’s influence, Addy was raised largely around music. Enrolled in voice and various instrument lessons as a child, she grew up with all of the tools she could need to take the performance world by storm, just like her mother. Unfortunately, while she had Shelby’s killer pipes, Addy didn’t quite have her confidence, and could better be described as an introvert—unless she needed to be the voice for her twin sister, then Addy could easily switch to loud and extroverted for Emmy’s sake. In general, though, Addy would keep to herself, often finding herself among the last to be picked for teams and pairs, but that didn’t matter, because she had Emmy, and that was all she needed.
Following Shelby’s take no prisoners lead, her upbringing instilled something of a sense of rebellion in Addy. Authority figures were simply not her thing, and Addy would often challenge them and resist the need to conform. The thing she hates the most in the world is and always has been being told what to do, so she was fortunate that she had the kind of parent who encouraged her to follow her own dreams and to do what she wanted to do. For Addy, this was music, but not in the same sense as her mother—she had no interest in performing, and much preferred the idea of being behind the scenes.
In the interest of following her own wants and wishes, Addy enrolled in PSU to study Music Production and Management. Despite still keeping to herself, she excelled in her classes, then went on to earn her master’s in Music Business. Throughout her bachelor’s, she worked at the school’s radio station, again behind the scenes, having no desire to project her voice throughout Pacific State’s hallways. This was her only job until after her master’s, where Addy was hired by a Los Angeles based record label to produce music for up-and-coming artists, who it turned out had about as much musical talent as a hotdog.
Making them sound good was hard, and dealing with spoiled brats whose parents money bought their spot under the label was just not what Addy signed up for. Again, she hated being told what to do, especially by those people, so she abruptly quit, remaining high on adrenaline for only a short amount of time, before she began to freak out about the idea of having no job and no immediate direction. For all Addy didn’t need the money, and her mom would’ve never seen her going without, she has always felt the need to follow Shelby’s example, and to work hard and make something of herself, for herself.
Amidst her apparent midlife crisis, one thing that kept Addy afloat was the one person she’d never known she’d needed—James Schuester. Addy hadn’t gone looking for Jamie, he’d just appeared from a cloud of perfect-for-her smoke, their relationship catching Addy off guard in the best way possible. While her instincts forced her to resist, she managed to do so for only the shortest amount of time, then suddenly she couldn’t imagine her life without Jamie in it. Addy fell hard, and despite her reservations and self-doubt, with Jamie's encouragement, she set out to start her own label, figuring that if she had no one to answer to but herself, what could be more perfect?
After almost three years together, Addy and Jamie finally bit the bullet and decided to move in together. However, both driven, career-forward people, it wasn’t long before their respective paths began to get in the way, and the cracks began to grow deeper and wider. With Addy’s label now beginning to pick up momentum, therefore her workload increasing rapidly, she is doing all she can to stay on top of it, as well as her side job as a guest lecturer at PSU, while trying to maintain a strong, healthy relationship with Jamie. Though, it is proving hard to juggle everything all at once, and Addy doesn’t know how to let go of any of the things she loves—nor does she want to.
FAMILY BACKGROUND
The Corcoran family consists of Shelby Corcoran, a renowned and legendary Broadway star, most famous in theatre for her portrayal of Donna in the 20th Anniversary production of Mamma Mia, Diana Goodman in Next to Normal, but she achieved huge success when she was cast as Fantine in the movie adaptation of Les Miserables, and her children. Shelby has been a Broadway legend for most of her life, starting when she landed the standby for Elphaba in Wicked. She has three Tony awards and an Emmy, and she’s looking forward to being the first mom of five to achieve an EGOT.
Although Shelby has entered into a few seemingly solid relationships, each one producing a child, she has never been able to keep a tight enough grasp for them to move on further than short-lived engagements. For Shelby, who is an excellent mother, her work and her children are her life, and a man has just never slotted perfectly enough into that. While some of the fathers are still in the picture, Shelby has always had a higher percentage of custody, and holds the title “Mom” in higher regard than any of her many awards and work-based achievements.
