To give thanks for 16 years in service, Qwertyworks celebrated its anniversary at Puzzles Café* in Libis, Quezon City. It was a simple celebration with children with autism preparing and serving the food for everyone. After having a heavy lunch, the whole team proceeded to play board and other thinking games.
A little fact about Puzzles Café: The café was inspired and put up by the Canoy family with a son diagnosed with the illness, in an effort to spread awareness about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Ysabella, sister and one of those assisting the crew, recounts that her brother, Jose, was able to finish a 2000-piece puzzle within 7 hours. They originally planned to put up a convenience store, but decided to open a café instead, with Jose inspiring the theme and name of the business.
*Solving puzzles entails intense focus, which autism patients can very aptly do. It has been observed that individuals diagnosed with ASD love solving puzzles, thus inspiring the name of the café.
