WHITE - Our first theme of the 2026. After narrowing-down my ideas, I wanted to try an ethereal-looking piece with a swan and white roses. Swans & Roses… Sounds like a British tribute band, doesn’t it?

What I was most excited about was doing this entirely using the new OHUHU markers I got for Christmas; 320 different colours with brush tips! They are amazing and I’m so grateful for them! ‘Made the world of difference to create the effect I was going for. 

I can’t remember how long it’s been since I was this excited about a piece and monthly showcase. I mean it’s always the best part of the month, but my enthusiasm fully took-over and I committed to the colour theme: Painted my nails white, wore a white themed outfit, light eyeshadow, and baked Raffaello cupcakes for the group; Coconut sponge with white chocolate frosting. I made so many cakes that the group went back for seconds, and I still had plenty leftover to give to relatives, people they wanted to give some to, my neighbours, the kids on my estate and a handful left for myself. 😋 

I was just as looking forward to seeing how everyone would tackle this colour. When you need to paint something white, you use tend to use any other colour to create the illusion of it. I painted this month’s egg using the same technique I did for the text on my anti-AI “art” canvas last year. I overheard members of the group noticing how everyone’s art just keeps getting better and better with each month. I cant lie, the day made me so giddy.
