today, i finished the greetings and numbers section in my new notebook !! it's the first thing that genki - lesson 1 teaches, and i thought it deserved it's own page for easier review.

i've never had a subject that i cared enough about to make aesthetic notes for. first time for everything !!

today, i did some kanji practice !! these are some kanji i've been struggling to either remember or write. my hand is totally cramped now lol, but i think i'm getting the hang of writing!

today, i tried out langcorrect !! i love all the writing prompts on there and how kind everyone has been so far (i’ve already gotten corrections!!). and i do want to post more journal entries on here, but posting on a website dedicated to corrections feels like a good start!

i finished my notes for lessons 1 & 2 in genki 1 !! i left out the things i'm quite familiar with, including ね and よ, but i'm quite happy with how this turned out :)

i'm technically up to lesson 5 in genki at this point, but redoing my notes is definitely helping all of the grammar points stick.

⟡ kanji i learned today w/vocab:

兄 (あに) = older brother. ex: 兄がいます。

起きる (おきる) = to wake up. ex: 6時に起きます。

雨 (あめ) = rain. ex: 雨が降ります。

⟡ accomplishments:

finish most of my genki 1 - lesson 3 notes

set up yomitan, asbplayer, and anki

practice anki for 15 minutes

watch japanese kids shows

i spent a long time studying today !! so proud of myself. (meant to post this yesterday lol)

finally finished the notes for genki 1 - lesson 3. this was a long one !! left a few things out like with the other one, but again, i'm just redoing my old notes (and i'm eager to catch up to where i actually am in the book).

writing in japanese has gotten so much easier for me i've realized tho !! no clue if my writing is actually like "correct," but i can do it faster and without as much hassle lol.

sometimes i forget to update my progress on here, but here's what i've been up to!

finishing genki 1 - lesson 6 + all of my notes for #4-6!

practicing anki almost daily

watching japanese content daily (podcasts, kids' shows, vr chat vids)

finishing genki 1 workbook - lesson 3 (i'm almost done with it and i've done lessons 1 & 2 already)

i'm hoping that i can eventually do some language exchanges once i feel ready. i know "feeling ready" isn't something to really wait for, but i feel like i need a slightly better grasp at the language: detailed introduction, conjunctions, n5 grammar & vocab, etc. but i can't wait to get there!
