So today was sort of strange, but hey. One of my uncles is in town for a multitude of reasons - one of them being that he was meeting a friend who was flying a Red Bull plane at an airshow this weekend - and at the little local airport that said Red Bull plane was at he ran into a young man who's currently flying around the world and trying to set a Guinness World Record for youngest person to do so.

So naturally my uncle, who flies small acrobatic planes for fun, invites him over for dinner at my aunt's place a few blocks from here, and we mostly gawked and while my uncle, the Red Bull pilot, and dad all basically interrogate him about his plane and flight plans and how long he'll be places...

I suppose that is probably somewhat less strange if you're flying around the world by yourself, since he was very friendly about it (and pretty excited to meet the Red Bull pilot and chat with him about the air races), so yeah. Strange day indeed! Go check out his site (which is helpfully linked above). He's more than halfway through, since he's been flying east the entire time, so it's just from here in Vancouver to the other side of North America, across the Atlantic, and through Europe left to go.

...Oh, and he's pretty cute too. Just sayin'.
