I just wanted to pop in real quick and say that, thanks to your latest chapter, I realized that I have a squish!! And it's!! the worst!? But I appreciate you writing from a perspective that isn't usually talked about in most romantic stories. I related so hard to Sans, and how awkward and confusing it can be to have these kinds of emotions for someone. Feelings aren't always so cut and dry, and I'm so thankful that your writing explores and respects that!
oh gosh. squishes aren’t supposed to be bad! they’re just like. friend crushes. people who you want to be close to but not necessarily want a romantic relationship with LOL. i hope your situation stops being “the worst” because IT SHOULD BE GOOD AND WHOLESOME ;A;
but thank you, i’m glad you are liking my take so far. i’ve been having a blast writing something that is a bit more unconventional. i think a lot of fic writers want to rush to romance and there’s nothing bad with that! it just...i got bored LOL and it’s a bit overdone so i’ve been having a great time exploring other life experiences.
i gotta say that the messages i receive about readers being able to relate to sans are probably my favorite ones right now. not that i dislike my other comments, but i get a lot that are like “i don’t get it” or “he’s just stringing her along” or “nah he’s totally in love with her” or “if he has to think about it he’s not in love with her at all” but you really hit the nail on the head by saying that feelings aren’t always so cut and dry.
and, to be fair to sans, he was in the middle of sorting his shit out when he felt a bit put on the spot. and he could have not said anything but the fact that he did shows how much he’s grown as a character and how much trust he places in squish. that in itself i think shows a lot of love cuz he knows she’s not gonna smash his soul when he’s working through confusing feelings.
