The evening primroses are in bloom, and that means it's time to religiously check them for primrose moths (Schinia florida)! I have found quite a few this year, which is odd for my yard, maybe it's because the spring was so wet.

I know this picture is screaming PINK MOTH but trust me, they blend into the foliage this time of year.

Sometimes pink is camouflage, I swear!

(This is a fresh BotD, photographed 15 minutes ago out in my backyard, primrose moth (Schinia florida) on evening primrose.

OK, GUYS, I KNOW I KNOW MY NAME IS *COMET* MOTH CENTRAL, BUT LOOK AT THESE BEAUTYS..... this is the Primrose moth!!!!! scientific name Schinia florida!!!! tehyre so PRETTY!!!!!!! it seems as they embed themselves in flowers, the class theyre apart of, schinia, also known as flower moths are moths that are known to do this!! i dont know much on the subject so i might be wrong but AAAA SO PRETTY <3

A moth got into the house one night last week.  I found it hiding in a coffee maker a couple days later.

It’s National Moth Week and...it’s YAPM! Uh...Yet Another Pink Moth. Heh. Anyway, found this obviously confused Primrose Moth (Schinia florida) with its head jammed in a sedum plant instead of the primrose nearby.
