Soobin
Soobin helps Mun get into BigHit after she forgets her ID.
“Hi, good morning… good morning,” Mun said kindly to all the familiar faces she passed as she walked into the BigHit building. This year was the 15th anniversary of BigHit, and it was being celebrated by a photoshoot with BTS, TXT, and soloist Lee Hyun. Mun was called in to be on standby for any wardrobe changes or assistance needed during the photoshoot. As she approached the front desk, she realized a new person was working, meaning she would actually need to get out her BigHit ID.
“Good morning… Identification, please,” the lady behind the entrance desk said. “Hi there,” Mun replied, opening up her purse and shuffling through the stuff inside, looking for her ID. “Oh, crap,” she said, quietly, unable to find it. “It looks like I must’ve left it at the apartment…” she said, sighing deeply. The photoshoot was going to start in a little over an hour, so there was no way she could make it to her apartment and back in time. “Sorry, I can’t let you in,” the lady replied.
Mun stepped away from the desk and pulled out her phone to call Seokjin so he could come down and help her get in without an ID. “Morning, Mun-noona,” she heard a voice say from the direction of the building entrance. She turned to see Soobin, wearing a hat and mask, passing by her as he walked towards the entrance desk. “Soobin!!” she said, almost startling him. He stopped and looked down at her, as he towered over her. “Do you think you could get me in? I forgot my ID at home,” she said. “Oh, sure… I can try, at least,” he said, shyly, walking up to the desk.
“Good morning,” Soobin said to the lady at the front desk as he handed her his ID. “Good morning,” she replied, scanning him in, then giving Mun a glare. “She’s coming in with me. She works directly with BTS, and we have a joint photoshoot that we need to get to,” he explained. The lady seemed to contemplate it for a bit, but ultimately, she couldn’t say no to him… he was her TXT bias after all. “Ok, fine, I’ll let her in this once, but next time you better bring your ID,” the lady said. Mun smiled widely and bowed. “Thank you so much!!” she said before following Soobin to the elevators.
“I owe you big time for helping me get in. I was getting ready to call Seokjinie, but I know he’s probably busy getting his hair and makeup done, so I really didn’t want to bother him,” Mun said after they were on the elevator together. “It’s no problem, honestly… Anything for Jin-sunbaenim’s girlfriend,” he said, smiling sweetly. Mun always thought Soobin was terribly cute. He looked up to Seokjin as his role model, and was a big fanboy, though he tried to keep it cool when the idol in question was actually around.
“Actually,” Mun said, holding up her left hand so Soobin could see the engagement ring on her finger. “Ahhh forreal?” Soobin gasped excitedly as he took a closer look at the ring. “Congratulations, noona!! I had no idea,” he said, excitedly. She smiled and nodded. “Thank you… it’s still relatively new, but we’ve kept it lowkey because we don’t want the press or anything to get a hold of it,” she explained. “I totally understand,” Soobin said, still smiling at the news of his sunbaenim’s engagement.
As they approached the floor and the elevator doors opened, Seokjin happened to walk by at the same time, seeing them come out of the elevator. “Mun-ah! There you are! Perfect timing,” Seokjin said, as he was on the way to the wardrobe department, since he had his full makeup and hair done. “Hello, Jin-sunbaenim, congratulations on your engagement!” Soobin said, bowing to Seokjin as he got off the elevator. “Ahh, Soobin-ah! For the hundredth time, just call me hyung! You don’t need to call me sunbaenim!” Seokjin said, then looking at Mun.
“A new lady was working at the front desk today and didn’t recognize me, and I was stupid and left my ID at home today… so Soobin helped me get in without it,” Mun explained to Seokjinie. “Yah! You could’ve called me, and I would’ve helped you in!” Seokjinie replied. “I almost did, but since Soobin was there anyway, I just got him to help,” Mun said. Soobin nodded. “The lady didn’t seem too friendly to Mun… but she was kind to me. I have a feeling I must’ve been her bias. I can often tell when that’s the case,” he said.
“Really? At what point did you realize that you’re Mun-ah’s bias?” Seokjinie asked curiously, causing Soobin to look at his noona wide-eyed. “I’m your bias?” he asked. Mun chuckled shyly at being called out and nodded. “Of course!! My bias in TXT anyways,” she said. “You remind me so much of Seokjinie… and I could relate to how much you look up to him, so of course you would be my bias,” she further explained. “Yo!! Soobin-hyung! There you are! You better get over to makeup stat, they’ve been wondering where you were!” Beomgyu interrupted, coming out of nowhere. “Oh, hello,” he then said, politely bowing to Seokjin and Mun upon seeing them.
“I didn’t notice the time… I guess we better get going too,” Seokjin said, looking down at his invisible watch. Mun chuckled and turned back to the younger boys. “We’ll see you in a little bit, then!” she said before following her fiancé down the hall to the wardrobe department. “Were you in trouble or something?” Beomgyu asked his hyung as they walked in the opposite direction of Seokjin and Mun. Soobin chuckled and shook his head. “No, we were just chatting,” he said, playing it cool.
After walking a distance, Soobin looked over his shoulder, making sure the couple was a good distance away. Once it was confirmed, the smile on his face grew huge and he grabbed Beomgyu’s arm excitedly as they continued to walk. “Aishh, I thought I was going to pass out, forrea!!,” Soobin said, causing Beomgyu to worry for a moment, until he saw the smile on his hyung’s face. “What happened??” Beomgyu asked. “Wait until we’re with the other members,” Soobin said, not wanting to tell his story twice.
They arrived at the makeup room where the other members were, and Soobin proceeded to tell the other members the details of his morning, along with the fact that he was Mun’s bias from TXT. “Aish, you’re such a fanboy!!” Yeonjun said with a chuckle after Soobin had finished. “I think it’s sweet!!” Kai chimed in, getting up from his seat. “Literally the girlfriend of your role model called you her bias because you remind her of him… I can’t!!” Beomgyu added, fanboying himself. “Actually, she’s his fiancé now,” Soobin said with a grin, feeling privileged with the information. “Seriously? They’re allowed to get married? That means I could get married someday…” Kai said, thoughtfully. “Yah, but you have to actually talk to girls first,” Taehyun quipped, causing the others to laugh.
Meanwhile, as Seokjin and Mun walked down the hall towards the wardrobe department, Seokjin commented, “I think it’s sweet that you told Soobin that he’s your bias.” “But you’re technically the one that told him, weren’t you?” Mun replied, nudging his arm with her elbow. Seokjin thought for a moment. “Oh… yeah, I guess I was,” Seokjin said with a chuckle. “Am I really the main reason that Soobin is your bias?” he then asked.
Mun’s brow furrowed for a second. “What do you mean? Of course! Why did you think he was my bias?” she asked him. “Because he’s tall and handsome,” Seokjin replied. “I mean, sure… but you’re… not as tall… but definitely more handsome,” she said, looking over at him and seeing him chuckling. Mun rolled her eyes, as she knew what he was up to. “C’mon!! You already knew!!” Mun said, laughing as she playfully slapped his arm. “It doesn’t hurt to be reminded that I’m your number one every once in a while,” he retorted.
Mun stepped directly in front of him, stopping him in his tracks, and held up the back of her left hand towards her fiancé’s face. “Is this not a good enough reminder that you’re my number one?” she asked. He smiled affectionately down at her. “I don’t have an engagement ring to stare at all the time like you do,” he said, kissing the back of her hand quickly, then taking it in his as they walked into the wardrobe room together. “Well, that’s too bad… I hope you don’t forget about me then,” Mun replied. “I couldn’t even if I tried,” Seokjin said sweetly with a smile at her as she began to get his outfit together.
