He said it isn’t a main track, the battle theme is very much a main track

i think we should take what toby says on twitter with a grain of salt because of his sense of humor tbh, it seems up his alley to make it seem like the song he composed was a very minor, obscure song then have it be a big major theme

and even if it’s not the main battle theme, it’s also very likely that it is a battle theme for another character you may fight in the game! (or even a general trainer class such as Lasses or Ace Trainers)

either way, we’ll see for sure on the game’s release date!

(disclaimer that im a khux pleb) with the 7 star medals in the new na update, i did some pulls and now have a bunch of medals way stronger than i ever had, and with special attack bonuses larger than i ever had, too. So naturally I equipped them and took them to the current coliseum mission im stuck on, and.... I ended up doing way less damage than before, the special attacks of all my new medals did literally 1 damage. I'm very confused and distraught

Medal rarity isn’t the best way to gauge how helpful the medal is.

You’re probably missing general strength buffs and/or general defence debuffs. The general strength buff boosts your overall power and, naturally, the general defence debuff decreases overall defences. At higher enemy levels those two are the most important types of buffs/debuffs. Medals like Illustrated Kairi [EX] and Illustrated Xion [EX] are commonly used to cover those buffs. The third tutorial quest (under the event section) briefly discusses this.

The other types are attributes (Power, Speed, Magic; abbreviated to “PSM”) and directions (Upright, Reverse). Upright/Reverse buffs increase damage more than the attributes do, but all are important.

Basically: first use medals that increase your general strength and medals that decrease the enemy’s general defence. Next, apply the PSM and directional buffs/debuffs.

The game’s battle mechanics might seem confusing at first glance, but you’ll get used to it eventually.
