Released in 1995 for the Game Gear, Cutthroat Island is a side-scrolling action game developed by Software Creations Ltd. and published by Acclaim Entertainment. Inspired by the film of the same name, the game follows the adventures of Morgan Adams, a fearless pirate on a quest to locate pieces of a treasure map left behind by her father.
Players engage in one-on-one sword fights against various foes, using different attacks and unlocking new combos as they progress. useable items can also be picked up such as knives, bombs, bottles and pistols. The gameplay focuses on melee combat and exploration, staying true to the swashbuckling theme of the movie.
