FOR @littlehaize 's SIMARKUS WEEK!!!
"And I can't lie, you have the sweetest eyes"
Context cuz I couldn't write a oneshot today:
Markus, Simon, North, and Josh were having a sleepover and they split into two teams for a board game.
Simon and Josh VS North and Markus
As a result of losing, Simon and Josh were then painted on by the other two(using Markus' cheap paints).
Though Markus was more merciful than North(Josh had to prevent North from drawing any more once he felt two circles drawn on his cheek).
Before hand, North was prettying up the guys and had Markus try on some lipstick. With the lipstick still on, Markus gave Simon a sweet kiss on his nose.
Simon had been gazing at the sun as it dipped down behind tall buildings and dense trees. He had been leaning against the wooden railing of a rounded gazebo, the one found in the garden that him and Markus had build together.
An assortment of summer time flowers and full grass bloomed around the gazebo, creating an almost ethereal feel to it with the orange rays dimming down to night time.
As the automated lights began to glow, Simon could hear footsteps from behind him.
"Hey, Si."
"Hello, Markus."
Markus, meanwhile, was searching to find Simon this whole time, going around their house in a panicked state. When he saw the blond outside in their garden, his tensions eased away softly, calming down for just a moment
but not all.
"I've been trying to find you, you know? Have a surprise to show you to but I guess it can wait a little while longer." The heterochromic android went behind Simon, wrapping his arms around his waist as he burred his face into his pale neck to lightly kiss.
When they had gotten together almost four years ago, all Markus could think of was how cozy Simon felt in his arms. The warm frame of his lover providing a sense of safety all around.
Chuckling at how touchy the RK200 can be, Simon brought his right hand to interlock with Markus', bringing it up to graze his lips over those toughened knuckles.
"Is this one of those spontaneous dates you've planned again?"
"Something like that, yeah."
"Of course." The PL600 rolled his eyes, swaying with Markus as a light breeze began to pick up, gently passing through the plants to follow the rhythm as well.
Tap.
Tap.
Tap.
Before finding Simon, Markus had adorned his nicest outside shoes for when he was going to take Simon out, and hadn't removed it when he went to the backyard. A low hum was heard from the deviant leader's throat, a melody of one of the piano songs he'd play for the other.
In recognization to the humming, Simon began to hum along with Markus, filling in the air of wind rustling with their small duet.
And the more that they hummed, the more Markus was egging on Simon to dance with him.
It had started with simple footsteps, front and back, front and back.
Then came a bit of improvising directed by Markus to get Simon to smile and laugh at his movements.
Then they clasped their hands together in perfect timing, now beginning to lean into a familiar dance. A dance shared together from when Simon was teaching Markus the footwork of waltzing.
Having mastered the ability, Markus was guiding Simon all throughout, vocalizing from the hums in exaggerated exclamations. Simon kept on following his lead, getting lost into this simple yet sweet moment.
It had felt so great to him, a thudding feeling inside his chest that made him want to giggle and shake in joy.
As always, Markus loved being dramatic, and so when they both knew the song was coming to an end, Markus spun Simon around.
The sapphire eyed android spun for a little more, almost as if he had a gown on, before laughing in pure warmth.
"Oh god, Markus. You're being very nostalgic."
But he hadn't turned around yet to face Markus, needing to center himself first.
With a puff of faux breathing, Simon smiled before turning around.
"Can you spin me again one more-"
And he froze.
Because when Simon turned,
Markus, with eyes so nervous and so full of affection, had knelt down on one knee. Hands shaking. Maintaining good posture.
Earth like eyes beginning to water.
"Simon. I wanted to ask you this after our date tonight. I had so much planned to get to this big reveal, but seeing you now and here in this place we made, I couldn't wait. You have been there fighting, surviving to catch a break and when you did, you had it with me. I may bug you, or I'm hard on myself, or even struggle to show myself to you, but knowing that you're still there for me strives me to do the same for you."
Markus had to blink the tears out so he could see a clear vision of Simon.
"I love you with every wire, every code, and every broken part that is my body. I'll always make sure to be there for you whenever you call out to me and to be there when you need helping too. So, having the pleasure of being with you and calling you mine,"
"Will you marry me?"
A pause.
And in aching feeling.
So full of over joyous love.
Simon had launched himself down to Markus, holding him so closely to him as he cried into his shoulder. Though a blubbering mess, Simon kept on repeating over and over again.
"YESYESYESYESYESYESYES-"
Having Simon hug him this tightly, Markus sets the ring box aside to fully be into this embrace, eyes finally flowing down with tears of happiness.

20 years.
20 years of the married life.
And it was fucking amazing.
Not only have Markus and Simon be one of, if not, the first android couple to ever get married officially in history, they were sure as hell to spend their quiet time for themselves.
And it wasn't a stretch to say that those two had fallen madly in love with the way they acted, both publicly and within their own close circle of friends.
A variety of red, orange, and brown leaves were beginning to float down and scatter, the trees' branches becoming more and more visible, the grass starting to fade out with the flowers, but the garden had kept its charm.
For the Gazebo, however, it had been in the middle of being repainted as the older colors were beginning to fade out.
Markus and Simon had spent the last day and this entire afternoon fixing it up and adding on ver minor but special details to it for their eyes only.
Once the outside appearance was finished, they both took a step made on admiration of what they've done.
"You're right, the blue and grey had been better."
"Purple and yellow also can be a good combination-"
Simon rested his head against Markus' shoulder, huffing at his lover's attempt to uplift him while lightly hitting his arm.
"I trusted your word more."
"Yes, but we can repaint it to your choosing next time."
The android couple then carefully got up the small steps to stand on the wooden patio, leaves crunching beneath them while admiring their view of the sky again.
The sunset was minutes ago, so in the sky was a swirly mix of pinks and purples with clouds that were formed from where the sun used to be.
They basked in the crisp air of autumn, comfortable in this middle ground weather. Though, November had been a certainly reminiscing month for the both of them.
Markus intertwined his hand with Simon's, firmly holding them together as he spoke, "We have that Liberation anniversary coming up soon this week. Been years since then but still feels surreal, you know?"
"I get that, especially when the first time we met, you fell from the sky."
Warmth of the color blue had developed from the teasing memory on Markus' freckled face. Simon gave him a kiss against his cheek before bringing his hands to hold his face.
"Earnestly, however, it does feel surreal. You brought all of this to reality, hope you know that."
When Simon's eyes pierced into Markus' core, Markus' thirium pump had made an extra beat to process the increase in thirium going to his chest and face.
"And I'm grateful for ever meeting you that night."
Putting his hands over Simon's, Markus smiled at him, eyes lovingly staring back.
"Dance with me, baby?"
"Always."

"Markus, you knew this was bound to happen! I'm a discontinued model, my love. My parts can't be replaced."
"No, I can- I can find engineers who'll make some more. Anything you need."
"Markus..."
SNAP!
As the couple had been arguing for the past 20 minutes, they had turned their heads out the window to see that the roof of the gazebo had been too old to hold for any longer, the wood finally giving up due to the weight of the snow sitting on top.
For the past month or so, unfortunate revelations came to be bear.
It had been long since confirmed that PL600's were officially outdated as even New Jericho couldn't find ways to produce their parts anymore.
Which had meant the parts that Simon is living with will be the ones that'll stay with him on his deathbed.
Markus kept on refusing to accept this hard truth.
But having the gazebo outside, a creation made by both of their plastic hands, go to ruin, it had seemed to get Markus out of his fixation on trying to help out Simon, at least for now.
He moped over to the window, his hands rested on the cold glass, staring out at the ruined structure, seeing how the snow piled up over the patio with the roof, and everything else in the garden.
All of it had been hidden underneath a white sheet.
Behind him, Simon thinned his lips and approached gradually, hand over the other side of the solemn android's shoulder.
He hated this. Hated seeing that gloomy face on Markus. It shouldn't be there.
This was a fate that Simon came to terms with long ago.
Even after Markus arrived,
even after he survived two days journeying back to Jericho,
after going through a whole revolution,
a whole 36 years of being married to this stubborn deviant.
Simon knew that someday, he will die.
Closing his eyes, Simon turned his head and observing all those micro-changes while Markus was in deep thought.
He knew his husband was thinking so, so so much of keeping him alive, it's why he loves him to this degree. He may be a fighter through and through, but Simon was nothing of the sort.
He just knows to accept.
In hushed words spoke for Markus' ears along, "I don't want to fight, but I don't wanna go mad. Please...just stay? Stay with me for as long as I can live. I don't want you to go on with any regrets in our marriage."
It was hurting Markus to let go of the imaginary piece of hope that their lives wouldn't be over, but he had been pulled out of it once Simon's gentle voice got to him.
Trembling moderately, Markus clutched Simon's body urgently, sniffling heard as he pressed against the other's shoulder, and shedding some tears himself, Simon hold was firm.

The rain.
Markus despised the rain.
Stood on the roofless gazebo in the backyard, Markus stared up at the starry sky, feeling the rain droplets hit his face with every pressing pressure it delivered.
Too much had the rain reminded him of his worst day.
Of his desperation for survival.
But he stood outside, in the dark, and in the rain, not because he wanted to go on memory lane, but to remember the pain it had caused him.
The amount of terrified thoughts he had going through his wired brain.
And how overwhelming it was.
All in preparation for Simon's last days with him in the house before he was transfer to medical care.
Each pitter-patters that left a tingly sensation on Markus' tanned face was all too heavy, the rain being all too loud for him to handle, how the stars above him flaunted their longevity.
Pitter-patter
Pitter-patter
Pitter-pat-
"Markus."
A staticky voice had jostled Markus from his trance.
"Simon? Go back inside, you can't be in out-"
"It's beautiful, isn't it?"
Watching Simon stare up to see the world's galaxy in awe, the tensions left by a margin.
"Stars. They live for millions of years."
"Yeah."
If only they had that kind of time.
"I want to be one."
"You do?"
"I had a story told to me by a kid I took care of months back at the android children facility. Said that stars were people that shined the brighest when they see the one they love a lot."
"That's....nice."
It had been quiet between them. The conversation died out, both their eyes entranced by the nightsky's twinkle, dazzingly the void with the rain's water reflection only making them brighter with each fall.
Looking back at Markus, Simon held his hand out to him.
No words were needed to convey what he wanted.
Only hums.
For what he wanted was to have one more dance.
Their palms clasped together, Markus holding Simon much, much closer. It had been harder now that Simon wasn't able to move his body more like before.
But Markus had been steady.
They followed memorized steps of the past, the slow waltz enhaced with each step them took.
They were drenched in rain water, taps and squeaks of each footstep they took and turned.
A dance of sentimentality.
And in the final part, Markus drew Simon close.
Eyes in with such sorrows, with downpour.
And lips that interlocked deeply,
Fear and deep devotion.
World's most remembered "I love you"s

Eyes open.
Markus was in the rain.
The still rain.
The same place.
The same weather.
The same night sky.
It felt real again. It really did.
He held the finger where his ring resides. The ring Simon had put on him at the altar.
Never removed, never forgotten.
Carefully, Markus budged the ring to slid off, holding it between his digits.
In doing so, skin retracted, almost as if Markus can still connected with him.
Nothing.
And when Markus had looked up for one more time?
There was a star.
A star burning brighter than any of the others.
Burning for him to see.
Watching.
Missing.
Despite everything, Markus mustered up what he could of a smile.
