TDLR: 

A spoiled prince, a street-smart swindler, a cold-hearted soldier, a slightly crazed pirate, a bookish chieftain's daughter, and a revenge-seeking peacekeeper all nearly die at the same time and become psychically connected (through thoughts, feelings, memories) to each other

It’s a post-WWI science fantasy setting and the characters are from different countries/cultures, so shenanigans (found family, political tension, etc) ensue.

Has found family, conspiracies, mysteries, interesting magical science system, parallel plot lines that converge, morally gray/gay characters, lots of character development, zodiac signs
