“What would you do if your life, memories, and feelings were suddenly tied to another person?” Six people. One life.

Twelve signs, twelve nations. The continent of Signum was founded by the Ancestors almost five hundred years ago. Its people now harvest the mysterious vitae to power their weapons and engines; a limited energy source for which one of the bloodiest wars in history has been fought. In the aftermath of the conflict, peace seems to reign. But when six people simultaneously knock on death’s door, they find themselves psychically connected across national lines ... and in the middle of a worldwide conspiracy. Loyalty, memory, and sense of self blur as tensions between countries rise once again. Assassination attempts, a border conflict, a missing peacekeeping agent, a bar shootout, a tale of a bloodthirsty beast, and the terrorist organization ELPIS.

Quotes from the Part II & Part III Antagonists of Six Chances
“Even if something is burnt to the ground, it still can be rebuilt as long as there’s at least one person willing to rebuild it.”

TDLR:
A spoiled prince, a street-smart swindler, a cold-hearted soldier, a slightly crazed pirate, a bookish chieftain's daughter, and a revenge-seeking peacekeeper all nearly die at the same time and become psychically connected (through thoughts, feelings, memories) to each other
It’s a post-WWI science fantasy setting and the characters are from different countries/cultures, so shenanigans (found family, political tension, etc) ensue.
Has found family, conspiracies, mysteries, interesting magical science system, parallel plot lines that converge, morally gray/gay characters, lots of character development, zodiac signs
There's a lot more going on ofc but those are the basics.
It’s gay, it’s free, characters are POC.
What other reason do you need to read? If you do need more reasons, check out my desperate rambling chaotic shitpost here.
I can do anything, but some things just require a bit more effort.
