• a scenario with a little bit of intimacy •

it is late evening. a couple is standing by a bus stop, intimately and closely kissing. when one of them, person A, feels a stubborn tickle inside their nose. at first, it doesn't bother them that much and they smoothly rub their nose with a pressing notion against the side of person B's nose.

regrettably, the motion only triggers the itch and the sensation travels sharply through person A's nasal passages. they continue to kiss, making person A's breath hitch inside person B's mouth and person B responds eagerly, thinking that person A is only into it as much as they are.

'...i'm-' flinching slightly, person A express the word breathily, pulling back sharply.

'...what?' person B reply, puzzled and with an arm around person A's back.

'...hhhhh-ESCHkntsch!!'

the first sneeze is stifled, downwards, a faint mist meets person B's lower neck. '...ohh my-wow-I'm uh, I'mmhhh...' person A manages to say before their voice falters.

they stagger back half a step, wrist up hastily against their nose as the nostrils flares widely. their lips part with a faint quiver and their eyes are squeezed shut '... hhhh, hhhuRESCHschuu!!' the next sneeze, forceful and stronger, snaps them forward and into person B's shoulder.

someone in the middle of an allergic fit.

lips parting, breath catching in uneven hitches. hand coming up quickly, pressing beneath the quivering nostrils as the eyelashes flutters against the tickling sensation.

the sneezes tumbles out and desperate to muffle them, shoulders jerks with the sudden release. harsh but stifled into cupped hands, leaving the nose pink and damp as they lower the hands with a rough sniffle.

'...still.... hhhhh, not done.' they express, staying half-bent for a moment, blinking rapidly, fishing out a fresh tissue from the pocket with a thick wet sniffle before another build up takes them over.

the second round hits them harder and they have to lean their shoulder against the wall, keeping the crumbled tissue close to their mouth as the sneezes keeps coming, harsh and now explosive.

when the tickle in their nose is so strong and uncontrollable, that their head shake with a faint involuntary shudder from the intense build-up.

I find it so cute when someone finishes sneezing, then looks over towards their friend or partner and asks 'No bless yous this time?' with a soft yet puzzled expression, maybe a little overwhelmed still from the fit.

it is such a cold and wintery day where I'm at and the sun is shining really brightly. and my mind drifts to someone who's stepping outside and the sun exposure sets off their photic reflex instantly, forcing them to burst out several itchy and uncontrollable sneezes into their bare hands (and as they try to find their gloves, they have no choice but to release the sneezes openly.)

i got a few new scents for christmas. (hair lotion, hand cream, candle) and at one point while testing it, some lotion got on my nose. (which my partner wiped off with his fingers very gently 🌿)

and although the scent didn't trigger my nose, it got me thinking of someone who would. the reaction would be instantaneous. and while trying to dry off their nose with the fingertips, the scent would only cling and stick to their skin, making the effect stronger. a build up inevitable.

trying to keep the sneezes at bay by first attempting stifling - they soon realize it's a mistake and it results in a massive sneezing fit. eyes streaming, nose running and for a moment utterly ruined.
