Also, can anyone recommend to me a good Windows App for editing videos/making slide shows? I was thinking I might want to make an AMV of my art sometime.

Here is a spreadsheet of some of my favorite (useful & free) software to download.
If you have been following me for a long time, you may already know this, but if you don’t: I love neurotic spreadsheets. My previous big hit is my jumbo fanfic rec spreadsheet . This spreadsheet is all about useful opensource/free software. This sheet includes the following info about each item:
category
program name
download link
link to the manual/library/support page
a description
supported platforms
my personal notes on each record
enjoy!

Need a Software Req for Digital Painting
I’ve been using photoshop for forever for digital painting and am currently running CS4. My new macbook has a retina display and CS4 doesn’t accommodate that well and with Adobe’s move to Create Cloud I’m looking to move away from their software.
Can anyone recommend a good painting App for OSX that can open .psd files? I don’t want to loose access to all of my existing work if I replace photoshop.
I do this as a hobby, not professionally, so something on the cheaper end would be ideal.
Textual, my favorite IRC client for Mac OS, will be free on the Mac App Store on July 23rd.
Cerious Software is offering the latest "standard" version of their ThumbsPlus software for free for personal use. If you do anything that involves working with a ton of images, this is a piece of software I can't recommend highly enough.
I've been using ThumbsPlus for basic image viewing/manipulation for about a decade and a half now, it's fantastic for thing likes converting image types, doing fast crops, adding watermarks, sorting images, etc. It's not a paint program (or at least, the ThumbsPlus 7 Pro version I've been using for the last few years isn't, haven't kept entirely up to date on everything added since) but what it does do, it does well.
This is one of my go-to pieces of software, among the first five things I install on any computer I own, and one I mean to upgrade to the current Pro version of the next time one of their their infrequent Perpetual License sales coincides with a time I actually have the $50 or so upgrade fee to spare). Though I'll be grabbing the free Standard version while it's available to try out in the meantime and see what's changed,
AT LAST, VICTORYYYY!!!
So, I have been struggling with a browser hijacker for a few weeks now, and had been banging my head on not only desks, but also walls, furniture, pets and slow-moving family members. But, after dozens of programmes and hundreds of attempts, I finally found one which worked! So if you have the qvo6 asshole clogging up your computer, I can wholeheartedly recommend adw cleaner. It also scrubbed out the remains of a whole bunch of other things I had thought I'd removed already.
AdwCleaner for the EPIC win, is what I'm saying
