Solver!Thad headcanons for an MD AU I'm working on because 1) If you can't already tell, I love Thad 2) Solver!Thad is an underrated concept and I'd love to see it more Now let's get to the headcanons before I forget lolz CW: INSECT STUFF

- - - - - - - - - 1 - Thad's Solver Form is mainly based around Luna Moths but has a few traits from other species (example: the ability to make squeaking noises from Death's Head Hawk Moths)

2 - He gets ✨proboscis✨ and struggles to figure out how to control it at first. Or you could go with a simple long tongue, whatever floats your boat. 3 - Due to the moth motifs provided by the AbsoluteSolver, Thad emerges from a (disgusting) little flesh cocoon after his first transformation. His wings come out shriveled because of it, and he has to wait for them to harden. (just like a real moth!!) He also gets gross little extra moth limbs.

4 - Despite not being able to go into sunlight due to being a Solver host, Thad still feels compelled to go to and collect lights. Someone (any of the MD characters, go wild with your visuals) has probably had to intervene and stop him from doing such. 5 - He refuses to kill drones for oil, even though his life now depends on it, and someone (once again, go wild) basically has to force-feed him oil the first couple of days of him being a Solver Drone.

Saw the AU ask game and thought I’d ask questions 2, 3, 4, and 5 about your Murder Drones AU.

2. Summarize this au in 5 sentences.

Thad and Lizzy are also unfortunate enough to have dormant Solver genes, and the Solver decides it might as well try its lot with all four available puppets at once. Unfortunately, none of these four children are willing to communicate their problems with each other, and they all genuinely believe they’re the only one. Meanwhile, J is traumatized, V is traumatized, and N is cheerfully repressing any and all Bad Things, while pointedly avoiding the gaps in his memory. J accidentally befriends Thad while trying to kill him, and Lizzy decides to avoid the problems posed by her best friend gaining a murderous streak by adopting a new murderous friend. And Uzi and N are off doing canon-typical shenanigans and murder, they’re fine don’t worry about it.

3. Did anything inspire this au?

This AU comes from three main sources: the theory (held mostly by me, and only me) that Thad and Lizzy both have dormant Solver genes, the way Uzi did before the end of the pilot, my canon-divergent Jhad fic where Thad tries to lead J away from Lizzy and Doll during the Pilot and they both end up trapped outside by the sun and the scary murder lady, respectively, and me realizing that I do not have the mental capacity or motivation for two MD longfics, but I also want both of these ideas to exist, so why not just combine them? It also works better, because then everyone has an outlet to exploring the mystery symbol that haunts their dreams! Uzi has adventures with N and her mom’s spooky closet, Lizzy has Doll and then V, Thad can have J, and Doll…well, Doll can do whatever she was doing in canon. So, murder I guess.

But yeah, this is just my self-indulgent “what if everything I like” AU

4. What is a major change you made?

Well, Lizzy and Thad having functioning Solvers is kind of a big change. And then that spirals out into more changes, like Thad and J having their fun little stalemate, and J therefore not dying in the first fricking episode, and Lizzy following Doll around to get answers on her own problems (which? By the way? Why was she even helping Doll with murder in canon to begin with? Like, your friend is murdering people, Lizzy, what the fuck why are you helping).

5. What is something you kept the same?

If I huff enough copium, I can say that Thad and Lizzy having Solver at all is the same (no, it’s not, I am fully aware that theory is grasping at straws a little bit, but SHHHHH). Plus, until late in the AU (probably between episodes 4 and 5/6? I think?) when everyone finally communicates, N and Uzi are having the same adventures and trauma they usually have.

It had been a long time since I drew anything murder drones related so u started last night and did a rework of my take on SD/Dissaembly Drone cyn and Solver Thad.

Solver Thad having gravity and mass reduction powers would work well for him, I think. Could you imagine Cyn learning what Thad could do and learning that he instead uses his solver powers to do better skateboard stunts, she'd be dumbfounded at the least.

Also, I think Thad would probably be the drone who watched all the Kung fu and fighting movies as a UNN alongside skateboarding stuff.

YOU!!! YOU GET IT YES OMG. That would be so silly of him.

Solver is like “I give you badass powers you can use to kill the people you hate and wreak havoc and THIS is what you do with it?!” and he’s like “hehe skateboard go whee!”

Solver Thad doodles

I return with my take on Solver Thad, as I said before: Thad encases his arms and legs in harden Oil (growing in height) and making weapons out of it similar to the dissaembly drones, as seen here where he turns his right arm into a large blade while he has the solver active in his left and one where he turned his left arm to a double barrel shotgun ready to shoot oil bullets. Reminder that this take Solver Thad is heavily inspired by the characters from slitterhead and Carmine prime from under night in birth as they all use their blood to make weapons to fight (with a little bit of Prototype)
