i am reading such horror stories from fanfic writers' whose work has been submitted to AI or put up for profit as their own work or book-binding circulated on tiktok for profit—which makes me wonder if it even makes sense to post multi-chap stories on sites now with the way the community has been behaving.

unfortunately, the audacity of (some) readers has ruined the love and dedication writers have for fics or the fandom, and this isn't a new problem, but it has evolved into something dark and toxic.

it has gotten to a point, where well-respected and well-known writers are removing their fics and content from sites—exponentially.

and it's just heartbreaking because fanfiction has gotten me through some of the hardest years of my life.
