"This is How it Feels" by Black Hearted Brother // Stars Are Our Home (Out 10.22.13 via Slumberland)

Members of Slowdive and Seefeel collaborated on an album set to be released by Slumberland Records? Yeah, that sounds about like my vibe. Sign me up. Yes, indeed. Neil Halstead of Slowdive and Mojave 3 has teamed with Mark Van Hoen of Seefeel, and musician Nick Holton to form the spacey dream pop band, Black Hearted Brother. The band will drop their debut LP, "Stars Are Our Home" next week, but they've released their single "This is How It Feels" for your sampling pleasure. And a pleasure, it is - the track floats on a lush collection of spaced out synths and a hazy electro beat as it builds towards an infectious chorus that sounds like The Beach Boys being covered by Mercury Rev - which for my money, is pretty much amazing. It's nice to see Halstead working in a psych pop, shoegaze setting again and the lush production makes for an exciting listen. Definitely high on the must listen list.

Brainbow II now available digitally, vinyl coming January 19

IT'S HERE! Brainbow's second album is now available digitally via Bandcamp, Amazon, eMusic and iTunes. If you want to hear this thing on glorious vinyl, you'll have to wait just a bit longer (approx. release date is January 19) but you can pre-order it now and receive a digital download code.
