I honestly had never heard of squeezeables until today! I believe they're about four dollars here at Walmart...but they seem so nice and they are slow-rising, so worth it it seems! I'll probably make gifs demonstrating them~

Stim Toy Review--Squeezeables

I got a couple of fun stim toys the other day, so I’m writing reviews!  First up is Squeezeables.  This is a brand of slow-rise squishy toy made by the Yo-Yo Lip Gloss company.

If you frequent toy stores or craft shops, you’ve probably seen a display like this.  I finally broke down and bought the ice-cream-cone Squeezeable.

These toys come in a brightly-colored plastic envelope with a clear “window” in the front (not shown here).  This allows customers to try squishing the toy before they buy, to decide if they like the feel of it.  Plus, it’s easy to open, which is always nice.

One thing I didn’t notice on the package until after I’d opened it was the word “Scented.”  They weren’t kidding--and the artificial strawberry scent does NOT mix well with the new-foam smell!  It’s a clever idea, but it can be a bit overpowering, and of course, you need to air out the new-foam smell.  The scent also lingers on your hands after you play with it.

This thing is SUPER squishy!  It can be mashed into a tiny ball, and then it slowly puffs back up.

I especially like poking in the top of the ice-cream. (The dog decided to give this strange-smelling New Thing a sniff!)

The size makes this toy okay as a portable fidget, but it won’t fit in your pocket (or at least, it won’t fit in women’s pockets--but somehow I don’t see too many dudes cramming this in theirs).

My final verdict:  This is a great squishy stim overall.  It’s quiet, the texture and level of compression are excellent, and the slow-rise foam means it’s perfect for fidgeting with your free hand while you write or use a tablet with the other.  The Squeezeables brand also seems to mostly be food-shaped, which is a fun way to get more “junk” food in your life without any of the consequences of actually eating more of it.  My only complaint is the smell.  If scented toys bother you, then you should definitely order one of the brands that isn’t scented, and air it out for about 24 hours in a well-ventilated room to lose that new-foam smell.

3/5;  good concept, but YE GODS the scent is bad
