#StickShiftProblems
okay so this afternoon, im on a hill and waiting on a really long light by my house. holding down the clutch on a standard shift in bare feet (which is me at all times) gets painful because it pushes back and so your ankle has nothing to brace up on. just in midair pushing in that clutch.
so anyway, ive learned that at lights im familiar with, so put him in neutral and put on my e-brake so i can just sit there comfortably. when i know the light is about to change over, i just take the e-brake off, put it in gear, and punch in the clutch and brake.
i was doing that at this light by my house and there was an old guy in an old pickup truck behind me. ive got all my windows down and hes throwing me dirty looks so im glaring at him. when i see the light getting ready to switch over, i did my thing and put it in gear, which involved me putting on my brakes.
when my brake lights came on, that old guy leaned clear out of his window and hollered at me, "GOOD JOB, GIRL! THOSE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ON!"
i flipped him the bird and went on. such an idiot. anyone with half a brain would realize that i either, A) drive a stick or B) at least knew how to keep my car still without the brake lights on. they clearly worked, just werent on. gah. who cares? as long as im not crashing into you, stfu.
Dumbass rednecks.
Every time I get into an automatic car when I drive, my foot is always looking for the clutch. :P
