Alpha!Derek, Emissary!Stiles + InBetaweener!Boyd
I haven’t written prompts for a while so I’m going to do a few Sterek+ kind of prompts because polyamory yo!
it starts when Stiles manages to get his phone completely mangled. He’s leaning against Boyd’s locker and Boyd glares at him until he steps slightly to the side.
“I need to borrow your phone to call Derek” Stiles declares.
“Uh cause, mine was completely destroyed and I know you have his number”
okay so it starts before that. It starts with Stiles ‘borrowing’ a book from Deaton he really shouldn’t have. It starts with little spells and an unamused Derek being used for experiments. It starts with Stiles being more Hale pack than McCall pack and being this bridging gap between the two. It starts with Stiles cooking dinner once a week, it starts with Stiles helping to train four beta werewolves.
Boyd hands his phone over silently. He keeps handing his phone over because Stiles HAS to keep calling Derek, Boyd just wishes he’d find someone else to bug. He see’s the guy enough as it is, they practically live on top of each other these days.
Then Stiles finally gets a new phone and he doesn’t need to borrow Boyd’s anymore and Boyd misses his scent on his phone
and suddenly Stiles isn’t there anymore because him and Scott have being drifting apart and he wants to reconcile so Erica and Isaac and Boyd and Derek respect his wishes and Boyd is miserable.
And Derek is miserable and they wallow in self-pity together and it’s kind of pathetic because it’s not like they talk about it, Boyd is silent and Derek is grumpy and unapproachable.
Finally something must snap because Derek marches up to Scott and demands to have his Emissary back
“Deaton is your Emissary” Scott points out.
“Deaton was my mother’s Emissary, I want Stiles” Derek says.
And then it’s like some kind of intense staring contest until Stiles points out he belongs to no one and that he misses the Hale pack and does this whole why can’t we be friends spiel, like there’s singing and everything and that’s how Stiles ends up training five beta werewolves, a banshee, a kitsune and a were coyote
so everyone’s happy. and Derek and Boyd still don’t talk about their feelings, but Boyd lets Stiles wear his jacket whenever he’s cold and Derek makes sure the kitchen is stocked with Stiles’ favorite ingredients both for cooking and for magic and at first it’s weird for everyone because they think Derek and Boyd are going to get competitive and mark their territory or some macho bullshit like that but it never happens, instead half of Boyd’s clothes end up mysteriously mixed in with Derek’s.
Three months later Stiles breaks another phone and Boyd naturally hands his over when Stiles bitches and moans about it, and that afternoon Stiles has some latest whiz bang model courtesy of Derek.
