I loved Strobelite! And honestly, I can imagine that it must be super hard to properly model Russel in mocap since his proportions are a little more cartoony than the rest of the band (just look at his giant yaoi hands!) So I'm fine with him sitting this one out, at least he had a rather big role in Saturnz Barz. And I'm sure once they get him right, the patience'll pay off :3

I’ve read on a few posts around here that they had wanted Russel to be in the video more but they must have had some issues, and I’m guessing they have to be more careful with the budget if they are going to be creating the Gorillaz TV show next year but yeah, hopefully we’ll get to see some more of our boy Russ soon! 💜
