3. You have to erase one of your fics from existence forever. Which one and why?

This answer might be cheating, but I actually have deleted a fic from AO3 before. I can’t remember what it was called now, but it was a little scene I wrote before Inquisition came out that speculated on Cassandra and Varric’s travels together pre-game. Then the game came out and it turned out their relationship was much more antagonistic than I had anticipated, so I deleted the fic. Partly because I was annoyed at being jossed, and partly because it was retroactively on the OOC side. 

5. Have you ever written anything you would’ve backclicked if it’d been written by anyone else?

Some of my more self-indulgent Legend of Korra fics fit this bill, particularly Found Wanting. I don’t regret writing it or anything, but oyyyy was it pure wish fulfillment.

9. Are there any unintentional trends in your writing?

Pairings where a male character is head over heels for a strong-willed, stubborn, powerful female character.  Angst with a happy or hopeful ending. Respect and friendship between female characters. Characters constantly shrugging, sighing, crossing their arms, and raising their eyebrows (ARGH).

I actually feel kind of silly because someone gave me Fire Logic like ten years ago and I put it in my to-read stack and forgot about it. I probably would not have unearthed it had it not been for the conference. But I am soooo glad I did.

I just finished the first book two days ago and I have already reread the part where Karis and Zanja reunited like four times. THIS IS MY JAM.

Me too.  I wanted to be one of the women of the Hames so badly. I wanted a dark sister even more than I wanted a Pernese dragon (which was a lot).

(...am I going to write an AU story in which Leliana is Cassandra’s dark sister? maybe I am....)

Also, while I was always impressed by the way Yolen interwove the narrative with later ballads/legends/myths, the bits that are written as excerpts from the articles of an academic historian with a GIANT chip on his shoulder are even more hilarious now that I’ve had some exposure to actual academic writing (and feuds).
