Y'know, now that I've rewatched 15x19 for the 100th time (and have been crying for the last 2 hours about it) I agree it would've been a perfect ending. They're still alive, Dean is off fighting fires, Jack saved Cas so Dean gets to come home to his husband, and Sam gets to go home to his wife Eileen, who has a face.

Do I still after all these years think Dean went out the way he always wanted to? Yes. Did the rebar do him dirty? Of fucking course. It was too mundane. Him getting mauled by a bear would've made more sense honestly. I think it would've hurt less too. And it literally wouldn't have been hard to film like ONE TINY SCENE with Cas somewhere up in heaven waiting for Dean, while Misha was still on set. I mean Jesus christ.
